I purchased this lipstick in the shade called Show Business. Its a really dark red/pink shade that's great for any skin tone.
I find that this lipstick is not only long lasting but is definitely rich in colour pigment. Its perfect for a night out after work and gives you that Marilyn Monroe look!

This colour rocks my world! It's a richly pigmented red brown that looks awesome on me and i will probably continue to use as long as avon continues to make it! It glides on smoothly and evenly and delivers colour true pigments that is comfortable to wear and contains lip nourishing omega 3 oil, vitamin e and self renewing pigments ! I love it!

What an amazing color! As soon as I received this gorgeous tube of happiness I squealed with delight! It is the perfect cross between a shocking pink and red. So perfect for brightening up pasty skin and showing off glossy hair! With just a touch I was able to transform myself into a glamorous diva. The formula is soft and hydrating, it may have a little too much of a slip for me as I like formulas which last all day, however without touch-ups and eating three mini meals it left a beautiful stain on my lips making this one of my new favorites. The packaging is very solid and simple, fitting in perfectly with its market-sale price. Overall a definite must-purchase for anyone. Already ordering my back-ups:)

I believe it is every girl`s dream to look their best or rather should i say, to be the only beautiful and eye catcher in that garden or hall in any event. Well, that is exactly how l`ve pictured my wedding day. l had always visualised my face with lipstick, and that thought gave me shivers...funny i know, but this was because l never feel comfortable wearing one, l always felt ugly, funny etc. the only thing i always made use of was a liner, but i always made sure l stick to the dark colours. Saturday was my blessing day at church, so l dashed to the Post Office for my BB package, to my amazement a lipstick was in it, now the colour...the shivers came again as i wasn`t sure if it will work for me. I did my face,brows, cheecks...and then decided to try my biggest fear....Oh gosh, a complete transformation. The Ultra Colour Absolute Lips lipstick, in Pure Orchid...complemented with the Ultra Glazewear Absolute Lipgloss - the smooth berry flavour just completed my soft make-up l had. l wore my hair upwards tying a pony tail, with this hair style it brought out my facial features and complemented my round face. On the lips it`s gentle, long lasting, and though matte, it does not necessarily need a gloss. lt lasted me for a good 8 hours without having to do any touch ups....even my hubby noticed something catchy. Now we come to the scent, it`s soft, breezy,berry-like. One thing about it is that it`s a brings out fiminity, it`s very classier and seductive but in a feminine way. It leaves one wondering. Whether you are going for a just-kissed look, a glittery pout, a perfectly luscious pink or berry effect, or a satiny sheer shade, a boardroom look or just an easy outdoors look...this lipstick did it for me, as a matter of fact l`m ready to try other shades.!The Ultra Colour Absolute Lips lipstick & Lip gloss - THE TRUE DEFINITION OF BEAUTIFUL LIPS!

If you don't already know, I am not a fan of lip products, especially lipstick. If I had to choose a lip product to wear, it would definitely be Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain. I do have a few lipsticks though and most have not been used (reviews coming soon). Like this little item, that has been stored away for a very long time and I admit to never have putting it to use, until my latest ombre lip tutorial. I have it in the shade, Oxford Wine. I really like the name, there is a degree of sophistication to it, much like the general appearance of this product. The lipstick comes in a sleek and attractive casing that is suitable for both work and everyday use. It is attractive and modern with its glossy black and silver finish. As you can see in the picture, this lipstick looks like a dark shade of purple, which is probably what put me off - I wasn't so keen on having purple lips. But after applying it, I noticed that it was more of a rich, indulgent pink with a rose' wine hue to it. I have to say that this lipstick is great at nourishing and moisturizing your lips and you can feel the effects for a short while after application. It is a thick creamy texture, a little too thick for my liking, so I prefer applying it with a lip brush. I find that it is not the most long lasting lipstick, so reapplying throughout the day would be necessary, but I wouldn't really complain as I believe the formula contains omega 3 oil and Vitamin E - essential for those soft, luscious lips! Overall, I wouldn't necessarily pay R130 for this, or any lipstick in particular, but that is because of my personal likes and dislikes. I do appreciate this shade and will most definitely be putting it to use, more often. I like that the lipstick is a smooth texture and doesn't create that thick, sticky barrier that puts me off all lip products.

MY THOUHGTS:
1) I really like darker colours on the lips, so the Buttered Rum, which is a dark wine red, and the Red 2000, which is a beautiful darker shade of red, were right up my alley.
2) The lipsticks glide on effortlessly onto the lips and leave them feeling moisturised.
3) No metallic taste or smell that some lipsticks have.
4) In order to get the desired shade on my lips, I had to clad and re-apply, clad & re-apply, about 4 times. One can choose the shade by layering the colour.
5) Without cladding & layering, the lipstick rubs off easily and leaves an unsightly stain on your water glass or cup, so this method worked well for me.
6) Both lipsticks stayed on for about 2 hours before I had to re-apply. It may stay on longer on someone else's lips. I drink water constantly, so am quite hard on my lipsticks and make them work hard too ;-).
7) Normal price is about R89,95, but they are on special from time to time.
FINAL VERDICT: If you are looking for a moisturising lipstick that feels good on your lips with medium staying power, this is the one. LIKE IT, but do not love it.

Ok ladies, here's what's up...
This lipstick feels amazing, as soon as you apply it, you know its not just functioning as a lipstick. It really moisturises your lips and the colour is vibrant.
What I didn't like was the difference in colour, from what I saw in the brochure and the actual product. I chose the Buttered Rum shade, which looked like a rich brown. The actual product has a reddish tone to it.
Great product for dry lips, colour is long lasting as well. I only had to re-apply once during the day.

Thank you Beauty bulletin for my free products to test. The Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipsticks were in the ideal shades that complimented my complexion. At first I was abit sceptical about trying out the Rose (RED) lipstick, but when i put it on, it looked absolutely amazing. I don't even own a lipliner, but I could see that using the lipliner made a use difference. My lipstick was easy to put on and didnt smudge. It was also very moisturising. I would definitely buy the other colours in this range.

I am really impressed with this lipstick. Let me tell you my story first. I am a dark brunette with very pronounced dark features (dark eyes and eyebrows) on fair skin. Because of my features, it is incredible hard for me to wear red lipstick because then you have all your features stand out at the same time which is a no-no in the makeup bible. You would normally want to emphasize only one feature at a time, so I your eyes stand out, then the lips should be more neutral etc. Ok, so with me it was never an option therefore red lips usually made me look overdone and dramatic.
Miraculously, somehow this particular colour just works. Firstly, the colour is really really stunning, not too dark or light, with not too much orange or blue undertone, really really gorgeous. It goes on beautifully with just one swipe. The colour in incredible saturated - there are no bald spots. The finish is completely cream, without any shimmer. It feels very moisturizing on the lips too.
With a sleek look of a ponytail and a black blazer, tiny bit of eyeliner and mascara, you will definitely achieve a most glamorous look with this lippie on!

First off I would like to say how much I love the simple, yet elegant packaging of this lipstick range, makeup looks good inside and out is always a plus in my books. My first thoughts on the shade was that it was a bit on the pink side for my liking, I usually play it super safe with a variety of nudes. That said I have actually found myself wearing it more then most of my mundane nudes in the past couple weeks. The pink is not garish or kitsch, but rather playful and girly.
The lipstick goes on silky smooth and Avon have managed to absolutely nail the satin finish that I so love in lipsticks. It is well pigmented ensuring your lips do really take on the colour of the lipstick. I did suffer a bit with transfer onto a couple of items of clothing, however I think this may just be down to me being somewhat clumsy.

I was so thrilled to hear that I had been handpicked to review Avon's latest selection of Ultra Colour lipsticks. The package promised to contain be a "what you see is what you get" type of colour with complimentary products to make my Avon experience a little more exciting...and that indeed it was! So my package contained the shades Buttered Rum and Chic with the Mystery Mauve Glimmerstick. This is a wind up lip liner that does not require sharpening. I had a really fun time creating incredible looks with this set which added a real pop of brownish colour to my lips. The lipsticks worked real well with my skin tone and the bonus of a creamy formula which lasted all day and had an SPF means I will certainly purchase again.

All I can say about this lipstick is awesome!
First of all the shade is a beautiful nude antique pink that is truly "chic" as the colour's name states.
This colour is the colour of spring,together with the corals.It was the first thing that caught my eyes.
Then comes the smoothness that this lipstick leaves on your lips.Very easy to apply,slides softly on your lips,has a beautiful shine but not too shiny(which I like) and it is very resistance.
I did the test and ate an orange after applying the lipstick.Most lipsticks out there would come off immediately,however this one didn't!The colour looked exactly the same on my lips after the orange.I should actually make a video to show you guys.
Perfect lipstick,it will not leave my bag anymore and will buy another one when this one is finished.Highly recommend!

Thank you beauty bulletin for allowing me to test products again, I was recently given the Avon Ultra Colour Rich lipsticks and a lip liner to test, I thought the colours were lovely I had the chance to try the silky peach and the country Rose along with the Mauve lipliner, they are lovely lipsticks however I would not personally go for those particular colours they are lovely if you like a pale colour and are into pinky pincks and peachy colours, they were long wearing and I did feel my lips were moisturised very well I loved the lip liner it stayed put I will definitely look out for other colours in this range as they were long wearing and very moisturising and rich in colour

Wow, lipstick like we have never seen before. I got this is a gift from my avon 'friend' and man was I impressed. Great colour, great body, lips so soft and subtle and kissable.My lips have gloss without unncessary shine and stays moisturised for hours, even after easting and rinsing my mouth.
The color out last all other lipsticks that I have tried, the feel is smooth and creamy , not sticky as some tend to be. I would feel absolutely naked without this lipstick on, I don't leave home without it. It is super lasting and the best I have ever used

The Lipstick comes in a shiny black container, with a clear view window so the colour can be viewed even before opening the lipstick. Lipsticks are available in 10 beautiful shades and retail at the affordable price of R129.95. It contains omega-3 oil and vitamin E and also has an SPF of 15.
In look 1, I used the True Red Lip liner and the Red 2000 Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick. Look 2, I used the True Red Lip liner and the Sangria Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick. These colours were rather daring for me as I am used to the more natural and softer pinks, but will use these brighter colours in the evenings.

I'm impressed with how soft my lips feel after applying my lipstick. I reviewed Sangria which,for me, is as office colour. Its soft, elegant and brings out the feminity in me as I love pearls. The Oxford Wine is a night/weekend colour as its bold and more aggressive. It just brings the wild side of me. Its the colour you live behind on someone's white shirt.....lol. Bonus is that both colours work well with my skin tone. Highly recommended especially for those who love colour and moisture.

I think that Avon has done an amazing job in producing a top quality product and I would definitely recommend them to everyone! The two lipsticks that I was lucky enough to try out were "Beyond Pink" and "Silky Peach". The peach colour is quite nude and refreshing and great for daytime wear, and the oink one is bright and vibrant and great for daytime and evening wear. But, I did find the pink lipstick to sort of be much softer on the lips than the peach one

I'm going to start by saying a BIG thank you to the lovely ladies at Beauty Bulletin and Avon for giving me a chance to review three amazing products! As everyone knows Avon is quite a well known and popular brand, which has good quality products for a fraction of the price. I felt pure bliss when I received two of the new and improved Ultra Colour Rich Lipsticks in the shades Chic and Sangria, plus I received a Glimmerstick Lip liner in the shade Deep Plum. I'm a lipstick and lip liner kind of girl, so I really couldn't wait to experiment with these lip products and create some cute new looks for Spring.
My first review : Avon Ultra Glimmerstick Lip Liner - Deep Plum
This Ultra Glimmerstick is part of the new and improved Glimmerstick range because the previous Glimmerstick lipliner range has been discontinued in Brochure 10. The lipliner comes in a sleek, strong black casing (resembles a pencil) with shimmering silver writing and a wrap-around colour code around the end of the casing. Inside the casing is a retractable lipliner. As you all know I'm crazy about the colour purple, so I was really excited when I got this lipliner. The shade is exactly the same shade as the colour code. When applying the lipliner, the texture is soft, smooth and softens against lips giving you a perfect application with no streaks or smudges. I was quite impressed with the rich colour pay off. The lipliner lasted around four to five hours and stuck around through lunch and frequent drinks of water. I was quite impressed, I also like the fact that this lipliner doesn't bleed into lip lines. Plus you can use your lipliner as a lipstick, simply apply it to lips and add lip balm or lipgloss over!

I would recommend you give the Avon Ultra Glimmerstick a try, mainly because it gives an absolutely rich colour pay off, I would wait for it to be on offer though, but if rich, creamy colour is what you're looking for, then this lipliner is definitely for you.
My Second Review: Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick- Chic and Sangria
Did someone say bold, rich and creamy lipstick? YES you're right, it's the new and improved Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick from Avon! This amazing lipstick which is known to be Avon's Number One lipstick just got even better. This lipstick has True Colour Technology which means the rich colour that you see on the lipstick is the same colour that you see on your lips. The lipstick brings bold, mesmerizing, moisturising and a luscious look to lips. The lipstick is extra long lasting. The lipstick is also very moisturising and conditions lips, with its new lip nourishing formula which contains omega-3 oil and Vitamin E, plus it has an innovative self renewing pigment, so the colour stays true for hours and every time you look in the mirror, you'll feel as if you just applied your lipstick.
The texture of the lipstick is smooth and creamy, the lipstick blends into lips effortlessly and feels like the lipstick is melting into your lips, because the lipstick is so nourishing, lips never look or feel dry, plus the lipstick works as a moisturiser which makes lips softer and gives lips a supple feel. The lipstick also gives lips a lovely light shine, and doesn't bleed into lip lines, and an added bonus for all the lovely ladies who love to protect their lips, the Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick is SPF 15 so lips are protected as well! The part I love about the lipstick, is that when you twist out the lipstick, the front of the actual lipstick has the word "AVON" printed on the lipstick.
The lipstick comes in a gorgeous packaging which is sleek and perfect to take when you're going out at night. The lipstick outer casing is glossy black, with a smooth feel and silky touch. The bottom of the barrel has a shimmering and eye catching silver embellishment which wraps around the casing and has the word "AVON" engraved on it. The rest of the barrel is also shimmering silver, which I thought was impressive because it gives the lipstick an extra expensive and luxurious look to it. The casing is square and the lid has a clear top so you can see the lipstick inside. The barrel also has small "click" lock, so once you hear the cap click down and you hear a "clicking" sound, you know the lid is secure and there will be no open lipstick, messing your make up bag. The bottom of the barrel has a small sticker which is colour coded according to the shade of the lipstick and states the colour of the lipstick. The lipstick is a twist barrel.
Now about my two amazing Ultra Colour Rich Lipsticks, first up is Sangria, this shade is new to the Ultra Colour Rich Lipsticks and is my favourite shade, it is more of an intense shade, which is vibrant, sensational, vivid and luminous. The shade is a deep fuchsia colour, which is a dark but vibrant pink/plum tone. This is quite a dark shade of lipstick, but it suits fair to medium skin tones brilliantly. The shade is more of an Autumn shade, but can be worn anytime. The shade is perfect to be worn as a day time or night time lipstick. While on the other hand my second Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick Chic is a much lighter shade, Chic is more of a peach bronze colour, which I like because it suits my skin tone perfectly. I find Chic to be more of a Spring colour because the tone is more pastel like, with a slight deep bronze in it. Both lipsticks have a shimmer look to them, which I absolutely adore, because I don't like plain lipstick, it must have a sparkle to it! The lipsticks deliver smooth and moisturising colour with a rich and luxurious feel. The lipstick can be used by itself or can be used over a lipliner similar to the shade of the lipstick and the lipstick can be used under a lipgloss for a sleek, glossy look. The lipsticks are very long lasting, and last on lips for about four or five hours, however if you use the lipstick under gloss, the lipstick will fade much more easily. Once the lipstick is applied on lips, it gives lips a "just applied" look everytime, even after eating or drinking, plus once the lipstick has started to fade, no one will ever know before you touch up because the lipstick has a slight lip stain on lips.
The Avon Ultra Rich Lipsticks come in shades which are perfect for you to use as a day time lipstick or a night time lipstick. The lipstick comes in ten irresistible shades which have the cutest names, I couldn't get over it.

I would recommend you give the Avon Ultra Glimmerstick a try, mainly because it gives an absolutely rich colour pay off, I would wait for it to be on offer though, but if rich, creamy colour is what you're looking for, then this lipliner is definitely for you.
My Second Review: Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick- Chic and Sangria
Did someone say bold, rich and creamy lipstick? YES you're right, it's the new and improved Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick from Avon! This amazing lipstick which is known to be Avon's Number One lipstick just got even better. This lipstick has True Colour Technology which means the rich colour that you see on the lipstick is the same colour that you see on your lips. The lipstick brings bold, mesmerizing, moisturising and a luscious look to lips. The lipstick is extra long lasting. The lipstick is also very moisturising and conditions lips, with its new lip nourishing formula which contains omega-3 oil and Vitamin E, plus it has an innovative self renewing pigment, so the colour stays true for hours and every time you look in the mirror, you'll feel as if you just applied your lipstick.
The texture of the lipstick is smooth and creamy, the lipstick blends into lips effortlessly and feels like the lipstick is melting into your lips, because the lipstick is so nourishing, lips never look or feel dry, plus the lipstick works as a moisturiser which makes lips softer and gives lips a supple feel. The lipstick also gives lips a lovely light shine, and doesn't bleed into lip lines, and an added bonus for all the lovely ladies who love to protect their lips, the Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick is SPF 15 so lips are protected as well! The part I love about the lipstick, is that when you twist out the lipstick, the front of the actual lipstick has the word "AVON" printed on the lipstick.
The lipstick comes in a gorgeous packaging which is sleek and perfect to take when you're going out at night. The lipstick outer casing is glossy black, with a smooth feel and silky touch. The bottom of the barrel has a shimmering and eye catching silver embellishment which wraps around the casing and has the word "AVON" engraved on it. The rest of the barrel is also shimmering silver, which I thought was impressive because it gives the lipstick an extra expensive and luxurious look to it. The casing is square and the lid has a clear top so you can see the lipstick inside. The barrel also has small "click" lock, so once you hear the cap click down and you hear a "clicking" sound, you know the lid is secure and there will be no open lipstick, messing your make up bag. The bottom of the barrel has a small sticker which is colour coded according to the shade of the lipstick and states the colour of the lipstick. The lipstick is a twist barrel.
Now about my two amazing Ultra Colour Rich Lipsticks, first up is Sangria, this shade is new to the Ultra Colour Rich Lipsticks and is my favourite shade, it is more of an intense shade, which is vibrant, sensational, vivid and luminous. The shade is a deep fuchsia colour, which is a dark but vibrant pink/plum tone. This is quite a dark shade of lipstick, but it suits fair to medium skin tones brilliantly. The shade is more of an Autumn shade, but can be worn anytime. The shade is perfect to be worn as a day time or night time lipstick. While on the other hand my second Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick Chic is a much lighter shade, Chic is more of a peach bronze colour, which I like because it suits my skin tone perfectly. I find Chic to be more of a Spring colour because the tone is more pastel like, with a slight deep bronze in it. Both lipsticks have a shimmer look to them, which I absolutely adore, because I don't like plain lipstick, it must have a sparkle to it! The lipsticks deliver smooth and moisturising colour with a rich and luxurious feel. The lipstick can be used by itself or can be used over a lipliner similar to the shade of the lipstick and the lipstick can be used under a lipgloss for a sleek, glossy look. The lipsticks are very long lasting, and last on lips for about four or five hours, however if you use the lipstick under gloss, the lipstick will fade much more easily. Once the lipstick is applied on lips, it gives lips a "just applied" look everytime, even after eating or drinking, plus once the lipstick has started to fade, no one will ever know before you touch up because the lipstick has a slight lip stain on lips.
The Avon Ultra Rich Lipsticks come in shades which are perfect for you to use as a day time lipstick or a night time lipstick. The lipstick comes in ten irresistible shades which have the cutest names, I couldn't get over it.

Wow!!! This is one of AVON's best ever lipsticks. Lip-nourishing formula contains omega-3 oils and vitamin E and also innovative pigments so the color stays true. The colors are fabulous my favorite Blush Nude and Chic.

Firstly, I would love to say thank you to BB and Avon for giving me this wonderful opportunity to review the Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Chic and Sangria, as well as the Glimmerstick Lipliner in Mauve. I will do my utmost best to give a fair and honest review. This is a sort of 3 in 1 reviews, So here goes...
I'm not a lipstick girl. At all. Sure I love the odd intense red lip or shocking Fuschia to add a pop of colour for a night out on the town, something only a good quality lipstick can provide. I tend to stick to tinted and sheer lip glosses and have have never purchased a lipliner in my life. So you are probably wondering why I do not like lipstick:
* My lips are left dry after lipstick has worn off (even the really moisturising ones)
* I find it a pain to apply straight from the tube (A lip brush is often needed for precise application)
* It comes off way to quickly meaning I constantly need to reapply and if I don't, my lips will look washed out
* Long wear lipsticks often feels tight on my lips, cracks and is a nightmare to remove while leaving the top layer of my skin in tact.
So now that you know why I don't like lipstick, here are my findings on Avon Color Rich Lipstick (This is me being open minded, honest and fair)...
The Packaging / Visual appearnace:
I love the packaging The casing is a sleek black, elongated square tube with a clear Perspex cover on top which allows one to peek at the color - I think is huge plus as it gives you the opportunity to see the actual color before purchasing. This is completed with a classic silver trim upon which the iconic AVON logo is embossed. One opened and wound up, there is an AVON logo embossed on the lipstick which I think is really cute and a really great personal touch from AVON. Over all, 5/5 for the visually appealing packaging.
My prep before application:
I wanted to experience the full effect of this lipstick, so in order to do that I needed to prep my lips. I exfoliated and primed to ensure a smooth base, I then proceeded to apply the lipstick in 'Chic' (straight from the tube without the help of a lip brush) and then finished off with my Glimmerstick Lip Liner in Mauve which complemented the color Chic beautifully! I then corrected any smudges or uneven lines.
My findings:
I would like to start off with the formula. I think its absolutely awesome! I think this is by far the most creamy textured lipstick I have ever used (I may not like lipstick, but I have tried quite a few in my quest to find a good one)! Its an absolute joy to apply as the stick feels soft against my lips and the color just glides on with out fuss. The formula is really high pigmented so I see the color coming through from the first application. I applied 2 coats to achieve that intense rosy pink color as it really suited my complexion well!
The Lipstick has a really nice subtle aroma (very slight and nothing over whelming), I can't quite place my finger on what it resembles, but non the less, a very pleasing smell. My lips looked nice and dewy which I really like.
The Glimmerstick Lip Liner is a real gem! I have naturally full lips, so never quite saw the need to wear a lip liner, but what a visual difference it makes!! It gives my lips that extra volume and sort of rounds out the color really nicely and enhances it to the full! I love the fact that it has a slender wind up as this keeps the tip pointy ensuring precision with each application!
The end result (findings for the duration of the wear):
I had a total wear of about 1hr30mins with either lipstick. In this time, I found that the lipstick moisturised my lips very well, even after the color faded, my lips were left soft and supple. The lipstick is very light weight, so It really was pleasure to wear and my lips felt hydrated, so I wasn't even conscious that I had lipstick on, my lips felt as if they were able to 'breathe'. The lipstick it self comes off way to quickly and transfers easily onto anything and everything that may touch your lips (accidentally or intended) - I found this hugely annoying. I had a packet of jelly babies and by the end of that, all that was left of my beautiful lip color was the lip liner out line. This told me a) I would constantly need to reapply this lipstick if I intended to wear the shade for long periods of time, b) The formula does not stain my lips c) The lip liner itself is durable and long lasting without drying out the lips.
So My very last and final thoughts??? Would I start to wear lipstick on a more regular basis? Definitely not. I think that this new Lipstick from AVON is definitely of a really good quality with high moisturising/pigment factors that allows lips to breathe, it just doesnt stay on long enough to really leave me with a lasting impression. I love to kiss my husband/baby, but would think twice about doing so when wearing this lipstick. So i guess it would be purely for show, but not really functionality.
I'm a little disappointed with it, and would not purchase this on a normal basis. I have how ever learnt the importance of a good lip liner should I ever one day be a lipstick convert, and I definitely would make AVON Glimmerstick my go to in this department :)

Omw! AVON has done it again! Yip, that’s right you all know what I’m talking about- they’ve made me, broke! There booklet 9 has me in tears as there new range of goodies are being revealed and at ridiculously low introductory and sample prices.
I’ve used a sample size lippie from Avon a long time ago and love its convenient size and pack of colour that I decided to go a tad over-board and order 3 samples of 8 colours out of their 10. Their such an awesome size that I can easily pop them into my pocket or smallest of clutches, meaning that wherever I go my lips are always going to look their coloured best. Hey, at R5 each no judging is allowed here ladies, besides I had to give my lips a fighting chance to know which colours they longed for when the full sizes become available.

These samples are a mere 0.5g each but that lasts for many an application and touch-up. They come ever so neatly and cutely packaged in a black circular base with a clear plastic cap. There’s writing at the base that tells you the name of the colour chosen.
The colours are vibrant, long lasting and super moisturizing. They instantly add hydration and colour in one easy swipe. What makes it so appealing is that for once, the colour I see on the pages is the exact colour I get on my lips when applied. All 10 shades come infused with an SPF15, so no need to add a conditioning and protecting lip treatment before your lipstick anymore. In one swipe across your lips, the colour is immersed to every crevice and corner. The 10 shades mean that there’s definitely one to suit every skin tone.

I'm still thinking on how to do my video review for this, once I have it figured out, look out for it :)
I'm not a lipstick girl. At all. Sure I love the odd intense red lip or shocking Fuschia to add a pop of colour for a night out on the town, something only a good quality lipstick can provide. I tend to stick to tinted and sheer lip glosses and have have never purchased a lipliner in my life. So you are probably wondering why I do not like lipstick:
* My lips are left dry after lipstick has worn off (even the really moisturising ones)
* I find it a pain to apply straight from the tube (A lip brush is often needed for precise application)
* It comes off way to quickly meaning I constantly need to reapply and if I don't, my lips will look washed out
* Long wear lipsticks often feels tight on my lips, cracks and is a nightmare to remove while leaving the top layer of my skin in tact.
So now that you know why I don't like lipstick, here are my findings on Avon Color Rich Lipstick (This is me being open minded, honest and fair)...
The Packaging / Visual appearnace:
I love the packaging The casing is a sleek black, elongated square tube with a clear Perspex cover on top which allows one to peek at the color - I think is huge plus as it gives you the opportunity to see the actual color before purchasing. This is completed with a classic silver trim upon which the iconic AVON logo is embossed. One opened and wound up, there is an AVON logo embossed on the lipstick which I think is really cute and a really great personal touch from AVON. Over all, 5/5 for the visually appealing packaging.
My prep before application:
I wanted to experience the full effect of this lipstick, so in order to do that I needed to prep my lips. I exfoliated and primed to ensure a smooth base, I then proceeded to apply the lipstick in 'Chic' (straight from the tube without the help of a lip brush) and then finished off with my Glimmerstick Lip Liner in Mauve which complemented the color Chic beautifully! I then corrected any smudges or uneven lines.
My findings:
I would like to start off with the formula. I think its absolutely awesome! I think this is by far the most creamy textured lipstick I have ever used (I may not like lipstick, but I have tried quite a few in my quest to find a good one)! Its an absolute joy to apply as the stick feels soft against my lips and the color just glides on with out fuss. The formula is really high pigmented so I see the color coming through from the first application. I applied 2 coats to achieve that intense rosy pink color as it really suited my complexion well!
The Lipstick has a really nice subtle aroma (very slight and nothing over whelming), I can't quite place my finger on what it resembles, but non the less, a very pleasing smell. My lips looked nice and dewy which I really like.
The Glimmerstick Lip Liner is a real gem! I have naturally full lips, so never quite saw the need to wear a lip liner, but what a visual difference it makes!! It gives my lips that extra volume and sort of rounds out the color really nicely and enhances it to the full! I love the fact that it has a slender wind up as this keeps the tip pointy ensuring precision with each application!
The end result (findings for the duration of the wear):
I had a total wear of about 1hr30mins with either lipstick. In this time, I found that the lipstick moisturised my lips very well, even after the color faded, my lips were left soft and supple. The lipstick is very light weight, so It really was pleasure to wear and my lips felt hydrated, so I wasn't even conscious that I had lipstick on, my lips felt as if they were able to 'breathe'. The lipstick it self comes off way to quickly and transfers easily onto anything and everything that may touch your lips (accidentally or intended) - I found this hugely annoying. I had a packet of jelly babies and by the end of that, all that was left of my beautiful lip color was the lip liner out line. This told me a) I would constantly need to reapply this lipstick if I intended to wear the shade for long periods of time, b) The formula does not stain my lips c) The lip liner itself is durable and long lasting without drying out the lips.
So My very last and final thoughts??? Would I start to wear lipstick on a more regular basis? Definitely not. I think that this new Lipstick from AVON is definitely of a really good quality with high moisturising/pigment factors that allows lips to breathe, it just doesnt stay on long enough to really leave me with a lasting impression. I love to kiss my husband/baby, but would think twice about doing so when wearing this lipstick. So i guess it would be purely for show, but not really functionality.
I'm a little disappointed with it, and would not purchase this on a normal basis. I have how ever learnt the importance of a good lip liner should I ever one day be a lipstick convert, and I definitely would make AVON Glimmerstick my go to in this department :)

I absolutely love the Avon Lipsticks, the shade Sangria is just life for me, they their smooth and rich texture make them glide with is, they totally complement my skin tone and to add a little more fabulosity I team the shade Sangria with Ultra Glimmerstick from Avon in the shade Pink Boutique. mwah

Excellent products. I am VERY OCD about my lips and usually don't like wearing lipsticks for long periods of time because they make my lips feel dry, but AVON Ultra Colour Rich kept my lips highly moisturised the whole time.
The Blush Nude adds a gorgeous, subtle pink tint to the lips. I love it!
The Beyond Pink is a much more daring shade, not recommended for people who do not like to experiment! Gorgeous, bright colour but not my style.
