I started using the Neutrogena hydro boost water gel cleanser a month ago and so far it has done wonders for my skin. I have dry skin so I needed something that will moisturize my skin while cleansing it as well.
The cleanser is effective and does what is says which is provide hydration to the skin. Love love love it!!

This is by far one of the best facial cleaners i have used. It is soft and gentle on my skin as i do have sensitive skin...... Only thing is it does not remove the makeup that much i do have the raccoon eyes after washing (chuckles) but it smells great and the packaging is so nice.

I love everything about Nivea's Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser!
It costs about the same as other Neutrogena cleansers (I actually found it yesterday for R97 at Dischem).
I used this cleanser for the first time last night, and what really intrigued me was the texture of the formula itself. I expected a standard, almost jelly-like gel to come out of the bottle. Instead, the formula that came out was a lot thinner than what I was expecting, and it really did feel "watery" (not in a bad way). When I rubbed it between my palms, I could already tell I was going to love this on my face - the formula felt almost silky (weird, I know, considering I just described it as "watery").
After washing my face, my skin felt very clean but not tight or dry at all. My skin also felt soft and smooth to the touch.
Next came the true test of cleanliness: I took a cotton round and applied my toner with it. Looking at the cotton round, there was absolutely NO makeup residue left on it! This is when I know my cleanser has done a good job (and I was wearing a full face of makeup). I proceeded with my usual Garnier moisturizer (although I am now itching to try the Neutrogena one from this range).
Waking up this morning, my skin still felt soft and hydrated, and what I found interesting is that my T-zone is much less oily than usual. I'm not sure if this could be because my face wasn't stripped of moisture from cleansing? Who knows.
All I can say for now is that I am absolutely in love with this Neutrogena cleanser, and if I keep loving it this much, I'm never going back! I will update should my feelings about this product change in any way.

This gel cleanser is lovely and light, perfect for your morning cleanse, or your second cleanse at night, after removing your makeup.
It cleanses the skin without leaving it feeling stripped, tight and dry, a problem with many gel cleansers.
I personally prefer a cream, oil or balm cleanser, so I won't repurchase, but I happily finished my bottle of it - a huge plus, since if I don't like something I will usually pass it on. If I were to buy a gel cleanser again, this would be it.

The gel cleanser was soapy enough to remove your make up. I love the smell of the cleanser. It does.leave your face feeling refreshed I just don't think it's meant for oily skin. Other than that thumbs up!

I was sent a few of the new Neutogena Hydro Boost products to test out and, boy, have they come in handy! I have been travelling so much in the last few weeks, constant flights between Durban and Johannesburg, and my skin was taking a beating!
I'm sure you've experienced it before, as soon as you start to ascend to a higher altitude (i.e. flying in general or travelling between cities such as Durban and Johannesburg) you start to feel your facial skin tightening and your lips needing a couple extra coats of lip balm. Well, try doing that every week!
My Neutogena Hydro Boost products couldn't have come at a better time!
I was sent three products, their Hydro Boost Cleanser Micellar Water, Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser and their Hydro Boost Gel Cream Moisturiser.
Hydro Boost it certainly does!
Neutrogena cleansers are my absolute favourite drugstore cleansers, so it was no surprise to me that I loved their new Hydro Boost offering! I already use their Fresh Foaming Cleanser (which I believe is a fave of Kim Kardashian) and their Spot Clearing Facial Wash which I can't live without. Again, the texture and fragrance of this cleanser is tops, my skin doesn't feel squeaky clean (i.e. taught) after using it, and it also has an "open-close" turning pump which helps when I travel.
Hyaluronic acid is the active ingredient in this range. It's moisture-binding characteristic is exceptionally important when it comes to skin aging. One of the qualities of youthful skin is its ability to hold water and retain a balanced amount of moisture. As we age, our skin loses the ability to maintain this vital, plumping moisture as well as it once did. The result is visible loss of firmness, pliability, and diminished appearance of plumpness and suppleness.
Hyaluronic acid can enhance moisture content beyond comparison with anything else, and at the same time revitalize skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer, smoother, and, especially, radiantly hydrated! That’s how it instantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid is quite high up in the ingredient list so that is always a plus, which is especially great for a drugstore product.

Really enjoy using this lightweight cleanser that is strong enough to remove excess make-uo and residue, but gentle enough to not irritate or dry out the skin. Highly effective in cleanse while also hydrating. The pump is very convenient for ease of usage - an excellent choice for a daily facial cleanser.

My very first impression was that this is rather nifty, pump action which meant no wastage, great smell and overall, very appealing.
Upon trying it, every expectation I had was surpassed.
The biggest factors that I look for in any face wash is the ability to not over dry my face as I hate the dry and tight feeling afterwards, this product not only did not do that BUT had my skin feeling very subtle.
Soft, pretty and everything lovely.
Within the few weeks of this trial, my skin has drastically changed, the difference is visible and I'm so happy to be I'm this skin.
I used this product twice daily as I felt that it definitely was not harsh at all on my extremely sensitive skin so would definitely recommend this to everyone irrespective of their own skin type.
If you want your entire life changed, this range is how you do it ?

I love the cleanser – I’m actually cleansing my face more than I have ever done so before! It lathers on great, creates a lovely foam and you don’t need to use a lot. It doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight at all, but cleansed and soft and well hydrated.
How I’ve used the products:
In the morning I use the cleanser in the shower to clean my skin of dead skin cells. Once out the shower I give my skin an extra cleanse with the micellar water on a cotton pad. I then use a generous amount of the water gel, paying careful attention to my dry spots and lips. Then comes putting on my face as I like to say (not that I use much makeup ;)).
At night I get lazy at times and only use the cleanser sometimes. I use a facial wipe every night to get rid of makeup and impurities that have come to visit during the day. I give my face a good clean and then will sometimes do 2 rounds of cotton pads using the micellar water. I make sure the pad is clean before putting on a generous amount of water gel, paying careful attention to my dry spots and lips.

Despite this range being recommended for dryer skin types, it's still a very good cleanser for those with oily to combination skin.
The thin gel texture dispensed from pump produces a lather when mixed with water, and skin is left smooth, supple and residue-free upon rinsing.
Hydro Boost Water Cleansing Gel removes most types of makeup (wipes are better suited to make up removal) and contains hyaluronic acid and glycerin, both clinically proven to lock in moisture into the skin. Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel does however include fragrance content that may irritate sensitive skin.
All in all, though, this product is nice enough and certainly has its place for anyone who likes lightly foaming, wash-off cleansers and it leaves skin feeling lovely, clean and lightly hydrated without any tightness. I'm a big fan of cleansers, the foamier the better. I've only been using it in the morning but you can use it in the evening if preferred. First wet your face, pump some cleanser in your hand and lather it onto your face. I massage it onto my skin for about 30-40 seconds before rinsing and it leaves my skin feeling soft like a baby's bottom. There's none of the tightness that I've experiences with other cleansers in the past. This one boosts hydration and leaves your skin clean and supple, to my utmost satisfaction.

I'm really picky with Cleanser gels , I do find they normally dry out my skin but I was pleasantly surprised by this cleanser. The Cleanser helps to remove impurities , make-up and sebum while protecting your skins barrier. I won't say this will remove your make-up completely - I still preferred to use my normal make-up removal routine here - but this didn't dry my skin out and make it feel tight after using the cleanser. A little goes a long way too - so I can see myself using this and repurchasing after my bottle is finished - which is pretty impressive .

This product was easy to later on and it also wash off easily. After washing with it my skin felt smooth and soft. My skin did not have that pulling feeling which comes due to dryness.
The cleanser also washed off make up easily.
Unfortunately after a week of using these products I picked up a rash on my throat and neck area.
I personally will not be able to use this product however I would recommend this product to be tried out as it might suite your skin

Absolutely loved this product, it really cleaned my face well. I used it right after the micellar water both evening and mornings. it left my skin feeling soft and brand new. after using it most days i felt this cold flush through my skin a very pleasing feeling that made me wanna touch and play with my face all day. And another amazing thing is how i didn't break out from this product as i have sensitive skin.

I was really fortunate to receive some products from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Range. Amongst the products I received, was the water gel cleanser. Here are my thoughts.
Price; This retails for R99.95. You get 200 ml of product which I think is great. This can be found online, as well as in pharmacies nationwide.
Usage: I use this every single night before applying my moisturiser. While the facial wipes are great, I love that the cleanser removes impurities and dirt deep in the skin, giving a full cleanse. I apply a few drops of my face and then use my facial cleansing pad to massage in and clean out the face. I find this process so soothing and relaxing- it's like a great massage for the skin! After a few minutes, I wash my face and dry with a face towel. I then apply my moisturiser.
Overall thoughts: This product is scent-free which I love. It's also very soft on the skin, and I have not yet broken out which is incredible. I find cleansing my face at the end to be soothing, relaxing time instead of a tiresome job- which is what I used to feel with other cleansers. I also love how clean and fresh my face looks and feels after using the product. I would definitely repurchase this product and have already recommended it to everyone I know!

I really enjoyed using this water gel cleanser. It was very light on the skin and created a gentle foam that washed away all the impurities/ oil from the skin leaving the skin tight and smooth. I loved that my face really felt clean after using this but not dry. It definitely delivers on the hydration aspect. Although i feel like even if you use this product you may still have to opt for a mask or facial scrub once a week especially if you suffer from blackheads, just to get that extra exfoliation for your face.

This product was my favourite out of the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water range. I love facial cleansers! I don't know why, but my favourite part of my day is usually cleansing my face, be it with a gel cleanser, scrub or foam. I really enjoyed using this products as it was different to what I've used before. The Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser is a light gel that is water activated. How I usually used it was wetting my face with warm water and then apply a small amount of product to my face and on my wet cleansing brush. I then worked the gel into my face with the cleansing brush (which has a silicon head and rotates gently on your face). I would do this for about a minute, which by then the gel is activated by the water and foams up a bit. I then would rinse my face with cold water, to close the pores.
Quantity:
The Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser contains 200ml of product, which will last you quite a while, I used this product for 2 and a half weeks and it has just struck the top of the Neutrogena® label on the bottom. I cleanse my face once in the morning and then again before bed.
Scent:
The product smells the same as the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Facial wipes. It's a nice scent, smells clean, but also very similar to baby products.
Effectiveness:

The Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser contains 200ml of product, which will last you quite a while, I used this product for 2 and a half weeks and it has just struck the top of the Neutrogena® label on the bottom. I cleanse my face once in the morning and then again before bed.
Scent:
The product smells the same as the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Facial wipes. It's a nice scent, smells clean, but also very similar to baby products.

The cleanser is lightly scented and not too soapy. After using the cleanser for a few days your face feels fresh and light and impurities are slowly diminished.

I usually use many different products to cleanse my face with but after using the water gel cleanser I no longer need to use multiple products. One drop of this cleanser leaves my face feeling cleaner and smoother and looking hydrated. This product reminds me of the ocean and not only because of the blue packaging but also because it leaves your face feeling unreliably refreshed and rejuvenated. When applying it, it leaves a cold sensation as well as a squeaky clean feel.
I have been using this product twice a day – morning and night. I apply two pumps into my hands and then lather my face with it and a touch of warm water, I then remove it with a wet face cloth. This product does not burn my eyes or the dry sensitive patches around my nose at all.

After a week of using this cleanser I am pretty impressed with most aspects. Firstly, it smells amazing (as with the entire range). It gives you a burst of fresh fruity fragrance when you are cleansing your face which is super refreshing!
I love the packaging. The clear blue bottle is symbolic of the Hydro Boost characteristic and the pump action bottle makes getting a perfect size of cleanser out every time (and no spills!).
My only issue with the product is that I don't get the squeaky clean skin feeling once i've rinsed the product off of my face. It almost feels as if there is a slight residue left on my face (but that might just be me being a little OCD).
That being said, I can definitely feel that the unique Barrier Care Cleansing Technology™ is effective as I don't get that tight skin feeling once my face has dried after cleansing (before applying moisturizer)
In terms of the price, it sits well with the level of other similar off-the-shelf products, and the bottle has a decent amount of cleanser which should last you a few months (depending on how often you wash your face of course).

The cleanser removes excess oil from my face and leaves my skin feeling smooth. I no longer have that tight feeling around my nose and cheeks, which is absolutely amazing! After using makeup wipes or micellar water to remove my makeup, the cleanser removes the last bit ensuring there are no traces of makeup left on my skin.
I appreciate the pump, it makes it easier (and more hygienic) to use the cleanser. It opens and closes easily, so no struggling. I love the subtle scent in the gel cleanser, it is not overwhelming. Love this cleanser and will definitely repurchase it.

I can't even begin to express my excitement when I received this product along with the wipes and face cream, to review!
I know whenever Neutrogena bring out a new range, I won't be disappointed! For example, the only product that I wasn't impressed with was the perfectly clear CC Cream, but maybe I just didn't apply it correctly.
For this cleanser though, the name says it all! The consistency is a runny gel and I have been using 1 and a half pumps to cleanse my face and that's the perfect amount for my skin because 1 is too little and 2 pumps is too much!
I use this cleanser whenever I shower so I start by wetting my face, and then I use both my hands to spread the product evenly across my face. Then as the cleanser starts mixing with the water on your face, it starts foaming but not too much!
I usually massage my skin for about 20 seconds or more depending if I have the time, but no matter what, whether I massage for 20 seconds or 1 minute, my skin is still left cleansed and hydrated! All my makeup was removed and my skin was left squeaky clean, literally! haha, I tried rubbing my finger on my face once my face was dry and it was squeaking! That's the sign of clean skin!
I rate this product a 10/10!

Well with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser, you can say goodbye and good reddens to that feeling for good. This cleanser leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soft, whist still being powerful enough to remove excess makeup and dirt. I wash my face twice, the first wash is aimed at removing all makeup, and the second time, with half the amount of product is to cleanse my pores. What I love about the Hydro Boost Water Gel is no matter how many times I wash my face, my skin never feels stripped, in fact it feels like its constantly submerged in water. You get such a great quantity of product and trust me the quality is there! So much bang for your buck. I can't see myself ever switching to another product...unless of course Neutrogena extends the range ;)
