Revlon ColorStay Suede Lipstick

I forgot why i stopped using this! It's a lipstick I've had for a while! It's matte and a bit drying that on my dry lips rolled off in little balls! I love matte and this lasts the entire day! It's not comfortable to wear though!

I have this lipstick in 080 Fashionista. Yes the whole 'lipstick is going to last the entire day' concept trapped me too, but I will never use this product again, that's a fact, because it has a really thick waxy feeling which I really don't like :/

After reading all the rave reviews on Beauty Bulletin but not being fortunate enough to receive a sample myself, I went out and bought one of these. The colour I chose was 001 Silhouette as I am a fan of neutral, soft colours. This is one of my favourite shades now as it can be used for any type of day. This product worked very well for me. I like the rich texture of the lipstick but that it does not leave a waxy coating on my lips and keeps it matte yet soft. The staying power is also great which mean you get great mileage on a single tube.

That looks wonderful. I need an all day lipstick because sometimes the time catches up with me and I don't always look in the mirror to check if I'm still wearing lip stick or if I licked it off already.

Got this lippie from BB in shade Private Viewing. It is a nude shade with slight golden shimmer. The word Suede in the name already suggests a matte finish which it is. When you first apply it, the lipstick feels moisturizing. After some time, it sets and dries into a lasting finish. It really reminds me of the effect of Revlon's Ultimate Liquid lipstick. Unfortunately long lasting lip products are usually quite drying which is also the case with this product. However, I have tested it by wearing it while eating and drinking and it performed really well.

The moisturising feeling that the shea butter and aloe leaves on your lips.
Your lips feel smooth soft and kissable after applying .
Most important you dont need to touch up every 5 minutes as it stays on for long.
I received the colour 045 and it is so beautiful.This lipsitck is a must have in your bag.

I purchased this because i wanted to experience the hype and because i have purchased most of revlons lip products and i must say i am highly disappointed it is very dry not very pigmented and because it is so dry it flakes off my lips and doesnt last the whole day so my lips end up dry and with no colour within an hour what a dissapointment. if you are looking for hydration and staying power you should rather buy the revlon balm stain or the revlon lip butter

I received this in shade 020 Front Row, a beautiful peachy pink that goes perfectly with my complexion in summer. I really do adore this shade and think it is quite an 'heiress' kind of shade. Nothing too out there in terms of trends but more a pretty timeless peach.

Consistency it is a bit dry and doesn't have any of the typical creaminess you would expect from a lipstick. This helps in that this lipstick does not budge, it is very lasting and clings to ones lips. They weren't kidding when they created the Colorstay range.
One has to use make-up remover to fully clean it off as do be warned trying to wipe it clean with a tissue will result in a rather gunky film of colour, so not pretty.

Overall a great summery lipstick and good value for money!

I was so thrilled to receive this lipstick to review for Beauty Bulleting, I was even more excited as this is my absolute favourite colour to wear on my lips!

Here is a breakdown of my thoughts about this product.

Likes:
• I love the colour (001 Silhouette), a very pale baby pink,
• I adore the packaging (the click mechanism which winds the lipstick up incrementally) and the clear tube which showcases the shade.
• It feels very rich, smooth and buttery upon application.
• It is long-lasting, though not as long-lasting as claimed. It is necessary to re-apply once or twice per day to keep the colour intensity. However that is still pretty good going in comparison to 'regular' lipstick.

Dislikes:
• When applying it goes on really creamy however after a few minutes it 'sets' and feels almost waxy and I personally couldn't bear it. However applying a gloss over this (or even a balm) does ease the feeling slightly and doesn't seem to affect staying power but it does negate the 'soft suede finish' which is supposed to be the whole point of this lipstick!

How does it stack up against Revlon's selling points?

Revlon's claims:
• "Instant Moisture" - check: it does feel very moisturising upon application.
• "All-day Color" - more like half day color, but it's staying power is still impressive.
• "Shea butter & Aloe" - shea butter is listed as the 8th ingredient and aloe as the 10th, one before the fragrance.
• "Soft suede finish" -Yes, the matte/suede finish is beautiful (if you can handle the suffocating sticky, waxy feeling long enough before slathering on gloss or lip balm that is!)

So in conclusion, although the good points do seem to outweigh the bad, that feeling of sticky, waxy, heaviness is just too much for me. I am wearing it whilst writing this review and all I can think about is finding a wet washcloth and giving my lips a good scrub to get rid of it!

Firstly, thank you for the Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Sued lipstick. I was super-excited to try it out and see if the staying power that it boasted of, is really true.

I like the lipstick applicator/casing. It's user-friendly and I like the fact that it clicks when you turn the lipstick out and back in. This way, if you're not watching, you won't accidently replace the lid while the lipstick is still out and damage the tip (been there, done that so many times).

The lipstick went on smoothly and almost creamy. At first, I thought it would definately not last as the creamy lipsticks tend not to last very long on my lips. However, it was similar to a lip stain in that it stuck around for a good while - even after my coffee and cereal. Bonus there!

What I didn't like about it, was the 'tacky' feeling after application. It was almost sticky and I really didn't like that feeling. It stops being tacky a bit later and then it just gets DRY! And, I mean - DRY!! my lips felt like they had been exposed to the sun and dried out from water deprivation. Seriously - not nice! I have taken a before and after pic as I don't have the luxury of video, so that you can see the staying-power.

For those who wear glosses, I think you'll like this product, but it really isn't a favourite of mine as I don't fancy glosses.

Revlon is still a firm favourite of mine, so that won't put me off as I usually use their lipsticks and mascaras and ... the list goes on.

Thanks again for the opportunity to test this product - it's always great to be able to give an opinion and I think people prefer honesty when spending their hard-earned money.

Being an absolute make up junkie, I did my own happy dance when I received my Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede. First thing I did was admire the packaging, there is definitely something more sleek and sexy about lipstick packaging in the longer tube with a clear lid. I ripped it open and put a coat on my lips, wow wow this lipstick is magic. It glides on so smoothly and gives your lips that much needed burst of colour
The best thing about it though is that it does not leave my lips dry and flaky which is something I find when using a colour stay lipstick. My lips stayed moisturised all day AND I did not lose the lipstick. Revlon definitely delivered on this one as the lipstick stayed through all my day to day activities being coffee, water, food and kisses.
At the end of a rough day I was pleased to see that my lips still felt amazing and still had an amazing colour.
I used colour 010 Womenswear and will definitely be purchasing another one when I have managed to use this one up. My lips are very thin and I often struggle to find a lipstick that does not make me feel as though I have just put lipstick on dental floss but this lipstick certainly did wonders for me. I’m sold

I was really excited to receive my first product in the post to review - the Revlon Colourstay Ultimate Suede in High Heels. My excitment slowly faded as did the lipstick I tried out!
I found the application very dry and not easily coatable on my lips. I tried it again with a gloss over and this did the trick! Much Better Result.

The colour was a bit bright for my skin colour, but it being summer, I decided to rock the brightness!

I personally would not buy this product as I prefer a creamier lipstick that moisturises my lips. I felt this was a bit too dry if you didn't apply it with a gloss. It does what it says on the box and the colour does stay, but after some time, it looks un-even and needs another application as not all the colour stays.

Quick Tip: For an even finish and a glam look, use with a clear lip gloss.

This is my first product review (where the product was sent to me) and I was really thrilled. I tried it out early in the morning and it really does last. I mean..REALLY LASTS!
The colour however, did not suit my skin tone, as it unfortunately was too light. I think that the lipstick needs to be re-applied later on in the day for an even coat.

PS: Add a clear gloss over for a softer look as it has a matt finish or add a coloured gloss (slightly darker than the lipstick colour) to the lower lip to 'make it pop'.

I was so thrilled to be chosen for this review. I generally love Revlon's product range... quality is usually assured, colour ranges are always generous, and textures are considerately good good. I was surprised however at how mediocre I found this product to be.

My ColorStay 'Ultimate Suede' has a beautiful texture, and I loved the fact that it's a chubbier 'stick' of lipstick as opposed to the breakable, bendable formulas in the past.

To cut to the chase, I have applied the lipstick on 3 separate occasions : once before I went shopping. A second time to visit the hairdressers, and a third time this evening while I was on my way out to visit a friend. To my dismay, this beautifully silky textured lipstick just does not have the staying power that I would expect. On all 3 occasions, and within an hour or so of application, I desperately needed to touch up. Perhaps I'm just used to more colour coverage, but I'm afraid this one is not on my list of favourites. I will however continue to use it, but perhaps OVER an existing shade I already use. The texture is good, just not the coverage and staying power it promises.

It certainly wont deter me from using the other Revlon products I've come to know and love, but this Colorstay selection wont be on my list of favourites in the future. Loved the variety of colours and price isn't bad. There are more effective "long wearing" lipsticks out there but a lot of them tend to dry out the lips. I found it stayed on well and kept my lips soft. For the price and quality, I'd say its a decent lipstick.

Its especially great that it has been released during the summer months, as it is perfect to laze in the sun with a lipstick that you need not worry about smearing off. Keep it close, you will find more than one occasion to use it!

I have tried and tested it and I must say, even though I am not a huge fan of lipstick, the particular shade that I have, Private Viewing, is perfect for daytime wear. The colour is a bare nude that offers your lips easy application. As the name suggests, when you smooth it over your smoocher it leaves a velvety feel behind. You can feel this velvety effect only seconds after application. If you find the after touch to be a tad too dry, just apply a gloss.

The reason why it sets and becomes dry is because it lasts for hours...you see, the lipstick needs something to stay put on! I did some research and I found that most women were happy with the product, while others complained about the dryness. Ladies, just apply a lip balm over it and voila! You are good to go!

The container is very chic and very pretty (I believe that the outside should be as pretty as the end result) it also is very appealing. It’s a great lippie for all genres of women which is a really great selling point!

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick is the ultimate lipstick, and yes ladies, after you apply it you CAN dare to leave it at home!
