After all the hype I finally got my hands on Garnier's BB cream. The medium shade matches my skin tone perfectly and it has a lovely scent. It's easy to apply and it was smooth on my skin. This is a great product for women who don't wear foundation on a regular basis but would like to have a light coverage. It' super affordable as well!
I was very disappointed in this product. Maybe because of all the hype, I expected too much of it. But since it is advertised as a 5 in 1 solution to most skin problems, I expected an actual solution to all my skin problems. I have a combination skin with a few dark marks and fine lines starting to show. I found that it left my face very shiny and didnt cover those imperfections well. I also wasnt very partial to the smell. It isnt very long-lasting and definitely requires touch-ups during the day. I much prefer a light foundation over a primer. I know there are many different BB creams being launched in the SA market, so I havent given up on BB creams just yet, but this one is definitely not suited to my skin-type.
I must say that this one of the best BB creams on the market. It is affordable and a 5 in 1 product so there is so much added value to it. It does a pretty decent job of covering up imperfections of the skin and treating problem areas whilst moisturising.
I've been using Garnier BB cream for a couple of weeks now, and while it is light on one's skin, especially for work, after application I need to dust my face with power as it makes my facebook look oily and somehow wonder if its not targeted at those with oily skins who need the moisture more. Apart from giving my face the "wet look" I find it quite practical and it saves me a a lot of time before work. It won't cover freckles though, and won't give you added coverage, but if you're looking for a quick fix (and that would be me) and a natural look, this is the product for you.
This has become my life! I cannot live without my BB Cream, it saves me time and money. I love the fact that my skin feels so flawless and smooth and I have naturally oily skin, so all I do is brush on some loose powder over the BB cream and magic! Flawless skin which last the entire day!
I cannot live without bb cream since it became a phenomenon a 2 year ago overseas I have been having to importing it from overseas and when garnier released an affordable bb cream in September last year I quickly ran out to buy it and have been using it ever since. Different BB creams contain different ingredients so you can find one to suit your skin concerns but these ingredients suit my skin perfectly. This cream smells amazing and offers a light coverage which is perfect for me. A little goes a long way and it is very hydrating which is great for me since I have very dry skin and gives off a nice radiant glow which I love because it makes the skin look more healthy but if you like the matt look or have oily skin you can always dust a bit of powder over it. My skin has really improved over the time I have used it as I don’t get occasional breakouts anymore so I really recommend you give this one a shot if you haven’t. plus it lasts all day and seeps nicely into the skin during the day while providing a spf 15 protection against harfmul sun rays. it saves time on your skincare routine

After hearing raving reviews, I went out to get myself a tube of Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector.
I definitely would not recommend this product to anyone with oily or combination skin. I used very little at first but I found it to go on quite blotchy. The limited colours made it difficult to get the perfect shade so my face looks darker than my normal complexion. It looks and feels extremely heavy on my skin.
This is the first BB Cream I've tried, so hopefully the next time will be a better experience.
I had been waiting to test the Garnier BB cream for a while so I was quite excited to finally get my hands on a tube. As I have tried other BB creams before, I kind of knew what to expect.
Garnier's BB cream has a fresh scent and comes in 3 shades - light, medium and dark. This might be problematic for some people, but I find that the shade does seem to 'blend' and adjust to your own skin tone if you pick the shade nearest to your skin tone. I got the light and it matches my skin tone well. The cream goes on well, except that it did feel a bit greasy to me. I set it with translucent powder and it gives a nice sheer coverage for a rather natural look.
For ladies with dry skin, I think that this will work great. I have combination skin so it does feel a bit heavy, but with powder, it lasts well into the day. I think that this will be great for a natural look and for when you just want to even out your skin tone without putting on a whole face of foundation.
The price is very reasonable when compared to other BB creams that are available in South Africa and the quality compares with other BB creams that I have tried.
Overall, it does what it claims to do, and the SPF is a bonus. It also did not cause break-outs on my face which I sometimes experience when trying new creams. I will recommend this for ladies who have drier skin and also those who want sheer coverage and all the benefits of moisturizer with a tint of foundation instead of using foundation.
Not sure if I will continue buying this BB cream as I want to test them all (and ALL the big brands are going to jump on this wagon if they haven't already), and I already have a few that i'm testing out. There are many brands selling BB creams overseas so it won't be long before SA catches up!
I absolutely love this BB cream! The light shade perfectly matches my pale skin. It feels extremely lightweight on your skin, which is perfect for hot summer days. It blurs imperfections and creates a nice, smooth looking complexion.
I'm not crazy about the scent, but other then that I don't really have many negative things to say about it. Yes, it doesn't last on your skin as long as foundation does, but it melts into your skin and doesn't clog your pores as much. This also has an SPF of 15 which makes it perfect for the beach. I use this almost every day and I love that it leaves you with a dewy, fresh looking complexion.
After reading all the reviews, I just had to try it out. Its pretty cheap first of all - about R70. I also went for the medium tone which I think is a bit too orange for my skin. Anyway, it smells nice but it burned my forehead a little so didn't put it there again.
It doesn't claim to be a foundation - so the coverage is not great but I do think that it gives a nice, even tone. I wear my foundation over it and it makes the process feel a lot smoother.
I try to only wear foundation where I need it so this helps to just even it all out.
I like the product although I'm not sure if I will buy it again since I wear my foundation over it in any case.
Fantastic product! I was wary of it at first as I do not usually use a foundation. But this is light, creates a nice clean finish to my skin and does not clog up my face and make me look like a clown! Love the price most of all!
I decided to give this a shot, see what it's all about. I didn't really expect a tinted balm, but, was pleasantly surprised by the results. As you can see in the pictures - my blotchy puffy morning face and the "after" pictures prove that this balm does work.
It has that awesome "Garnier" fragrance to it, applies smoothly, and leaves your skin looking soft and shiny (not as in oily). Your make up applied after also looks more radiant. It is a great item to have.
I was pretty disappointed in this BB cream. Its the first BB cream I have ever tried a BB cream and just expected a lot more than what I experienced. When first applying the cream on my face, it felt really oily and sticky (is this the "glow" they're talking about?). It didn't fill fine lines or cover dark circles under my eyes. I had to apply a concealer afterwards. It did leave my skin with light coverage and a natural finish to the face but I was expecting it to be more like a foundation.
I have heard reviews on the original Korean BB creams and ladies say that its better than foundation. Unfortunately my foundation is way better than Garnier's BB cream:)
Overall, I think this is a good cream to apply if you're just lounging around the house on the weekend or if you're going to visit the beach and you're not looking for a "heavy face".
During my last visit to Clicks I got Garnier BB cream in medium. First of all, I really think that they must put up some testers. They were no testers available and it made it a bit difficult to make up my mind on the shade. Got medium, as it was close to my skin tone. Coming to the texture, it goes on smoothly, but gives a bit of oily finish to the skin. I am sure it would be perfect for dry skin ladies. When finished with some loose powder, I am satisfied with the coverage it provides. All in all a great BB cream which is quite affordable.
Finally got to try this BB cream. I was a little skeptical about it only being in three tones, and sure enough, light is way too light and medium is a little too dark (I bought medium, because it was closer to my skin tone). Other than that, it is really affordable, considering most BB creams are really expensive. It provides sufficient coverage, but if you want to use it mainly for coverage, add some concealer and maybe foundation too. BB creams are used mainly to create an even tone and a nice make-up base. All in all, this BB cream is one of the best I've tried. It lasts long, smells pleasant, and leaves your skin feeling moisturised and fresh all day.
Blemish Balms have been all the rage on many beauty blogs for a couple of months now, especially the international ones. Coming from Korea, BB Creams are said to be an all-in-one foundation, moisturiser, serum, primer and sunblock.
Of course I was overjoyed to hear that Garnier SA were bringing the first ones to our shores.
Despite the failed pre order system and very little knowledge from Clicks cosmetics consultants, this product goes above and beyond my expectations.
It goes on a little oily, and at first you think it won't cover or will make you look like a greasy teen, but it soon becomes quite matt and does a decent job at covering. I still use my MAC concealer under my eyes on the dark spots on my chin, but it's perfect for day wear.
If you have combination or oily skin, I suggest setting it with a translucent powder to prevent it from slipping off.
Over all, a beauty staple. I'm looking forward to more brands waking up and stocking up.
Heard so much about the product. So excited that I've finally got hold of it.. day 1using the cream... completely satisified with the result. The cream is a little thick, and oily but it glides on easily and smells amazing. It gives a good coverage without drying out the skin. I didn't have to touch up at all today. At the end of the day, my skin looks as fresh as I've when I applied the products. The price is really cheap considering the quality of the product. Will definately buy it again....
I’ve been hearing more and more about BB creams lately and it sounds like the perfect product – a foundation and skincare product in one. What a dream! When I heard about the Garnier BB Cream a couple of weeks ago, I could not wait to get my hands on it! Garnier claims it renews, brightens, evens, hydrates and protects.
I got one at Clicks last week for R79.
What a bargain!I was a bit sceptical about the colour, especially because there are only 3 shades available. But ‘Light’ matches my skin tone perfectly.
I wear foundation every day and I was worried that the coverage would not be enough, but to my surprise it did even out my skin and neutralise some of the red patches. Even though the coverage is very sheer, I am still very happy with the result. It leaves my skin beautifully even and radiant. This product will not replace my foundation but I will reach for it on days when I don’t want a too ‘made up’ look.
The formulation is quite thick and I love the fact that it moisturises my dry skin. It wore perfectly for a whole day after setting it with powder. I tried it on its own on a hot day and unfortunately my skin went from radiant to shiny. Not sure if this product is suitable for oily skin.
I also like that it has a SPF15 and the product has a lovely scent. I can’t comment on how this BB cream compares to others, but I am quite happy with this purchase.
