Avon 8-in-1 eye palette - the metallics

This is a great easy to apply eye liner in a deep black colour, it's a neat roll out liner that's easy to use and lasts long. It's a bargain from Avon!

I've always been a fan of AVON products as the affordability for the high quality and innovation-filled catalogue made my pocket very happy.

The appearance of the palette itself is beautiful. It is classy and shiny - something to made the makeup bag feel proud to have.

At first glance, the shadows shades are inviting and vibrant, on application, however, it disappoints terribly.
It is almost impossible to achieve bright colour using brush strokes of a regular eyeshadow brush. I ended up using a dabbing motion on my lid with the little applicators that come inside the palette to achieve some semblance of colour. Once applied, DO NOT BLEND with a brush!! It will dull the colour and your eyelid will look like you applied only one shade.

I am a fan of bright shadows and vibrant colours which is why this eyeshadow disappoints. If you are the type to use muted or natural colours though, this would be perfect for you! It gives the eyelid a light wash of gentle colour without making you look clownish. I would not purchase this eyeshadow for myself but perhaps I would purchase it as a gift for an older woman.

I was one of the blessed ladies that got to try on Avon lip and eye make-up. I have been wearing the make-up daily for the past two weeks now and have been receiving a lot of compliments.

Eyes - Metallic 8-in-1 eyeshadow palette by Avon

I wanted to create a soft smoky eye for a day look and the metallic 8-in-1 eyeshadow palette by Avon delivered a beautiful smoky eye with flair. I used eyeshadow no. 7 which is a bluish grey silver colour that used to cover the whole brow, the navy blue eyeshadow no. 8 over the lid and the lovely purple eyeshadow no. 6 to blend these colours together. I played more with no. 8 to create more depth to my look.

The colours of the metallic 8-in-1 eyeshadow palette by Avon are fresh, fun, funky but also very classy. Thus it is a versatile palette that delivers a bang for your buck because it can create so many different look, from just one product. The silky smooth texture of the eyeshadow powders makes for an easy application. This eyeshadow powder has a very luxurious feel to it and it looks beautifully galm on the skin.

To finish off my Avon Beauty Experience,I framed my eyes with Avon’s black eyeliner. The eye lashes got elongated and thickened with Avon’s Supershock Max mascara. My eyebrows were filled-in with Avon’s eyebrow pencil in dark brown for a fuller look.I used Avon’s Ultra Colour lip crayon in Fresh Fuchsia for a lip colour that shines, nourishes and has staying power.

Tips:

Invest in some good Avon makeup brushes to make the application of your makeup that much smoother. I used my Avon brushes to blend my colours and they made an easy job of it.

Being a working Mom and not really having much time for myself, I often do not use any make up unless I have to attend functions. When receiving the Avon Palette I was really excited! This product is easy to use and blends well together. This product stays on longer than previous with minimal smudging. As I like to make my eyes the main focus when applying makeup on, I was able to do so with just one sweep of Avon makeup.... The Metallic colors definitely made my eyes stand out and look amazing. What more can we say? This is the BEST MAKE UP PALETTE any woman should have. I could apply it so subttle that i got away with it during the day and at night it was so bold, so beautiful! I got compliments with my applications which made me blush, and so proud that Avon has improved their quality and i am no longer hesitant to go for it but instead I am the one who's screaming about Avon make up from my roof.

I can just say, the make up IS MORE THAN GREAT, ITS PERFECT!

Great product, the case is compact enough to carry even in a small clutch bag. I love the palette of colours. There's enough variety for every occasion (from work to the party scene). It is very user friendly.

I must say as someone who wear specticles i am very weary of what i put on my eyes because of the fear that my eyes might react to the product. But I am happy to report that hasnt been the case i love the 8 in 1 eye shadows as i can play around with different looks, I have to say i have fallen in love with the smokey eye look but i have to say what i love the most about these colours they are not too dark and they are perfect colours for the spring and summer.

Another amazing thing about these colours is that it is easy to transform my look from day to night without a hussle of worrying if the colours will suit the evening looks. They are perfect even when I just want to put on just minimum makeup i can just put on just the right colour and voooaaala simple look achieved.

When I first opened the box I have to admit that I was taken aback by the colour palette. I am not very bold with my everyday eyeshadow so I was not sure how I would incorporate it into my day-to-day activities.

Once I got to play around with the colours I realised just how much I enjoyed the colours. They compliment each other very well and I managed to accomplish some great looks!

What I loved:
* Great Colours
* Nifty little compactum with a handy mirror to see your eyes perfectly
* Colour applies very light so allows you to layer the colour to get it to as dark as you like - nice if you want to use the same colours for a day look
* Not powdery - the colours don't fall all over your eye area

What I was not so keen on:
* For me the colour didn't last all that long. Unless I blink more than the average person, I found that the colour faded quite a bit, especially in the creases
* The applicators are rather useless. They are not easy to use - I think one longer applicator may have worked better

All-in-all I quite liked this product and I will definitely use it!

I was crazy to get one of this eyeshadow palettes because it has a good variety of colours that can create beautiful looks,specially to go out at night.

I made a really cool smokey eye with blue nuances that really made my eyes pop.

This eyeshadow really stay on the whole day.It was very difficult to remove all the make up from my eyes,even using a make up remover.I had to go over again several times.That shows me this eyeshadow colours are very resistant.

It came with 2 applicators that in my opinion could have been a better quality.It was not easy to apply with those applicators and I ended up using the applicator from my other Avon Eyeshadow quad.
In the other hand the mirror has the perfect measurements,it focus completely on your eyes,making application easier.

The colours compliment each other making blending the shades very easy.

The price is fairly good.I bought this set on special in the latest brochure for only R 99!A total bargain.

I can't wait to try different looks with these amazing colours!

Very pleased with this product.

I think it was a satisfactory product, personally I don't think it is an everyday palette. The colors are warm and attractive, will be suitable for evening wear. I did not enjoy the feel of the eyeshadow as it did not go on smoothly but rather patchy which made blending somewhat difficult. It is a product you will enjoy if you have plenty time to play around with but if you are a person with a busy lifestyle then it will be a product you will use occasionally.

I got my eyeshadows and they are great especially because i have the avon foundation, bronzing pearls and now thanks to BB i have the eyeshadow to go with my set. I love the earthy colours but mostly love the black and grey coz im a fan of black and grey. they go so well together the smokey look does it for me especially with my beautiful big eyes.

Loving the eyeshadows and i know they will last me for a long time and i will certainly be using mor AVON products because they do it for me.

Since becoming a mother I have limited time to apply any sort of makeup but this palette made things easy. A quick sweep of one, two or even three tones blend beautifully and doesn't look plastered and lasts all day. This is a great product for quick and easy application when you have limited time. And an even better product when you do have time to to play around. Thank beauty bulletin ;)

Honestly an amazing product that I will use over and over again!

I love this product!! I am a Avon Sales Leader and I have so many customers that loves this product some of them have very sensitive skin and are allergic to many other eyeliners but the can use these Avon glimmerstick and they love it!

I totally love this product!! And it last the whole day! I put my make-up on early in the morning and by the time I take a bath I still have eye- shadow on. The colours are also amazing. I am a Avon Sales leader and I recommend it to all my reps and customers

Ok…. So I was very excited from the time I was chosen to review some make-up for Avon (one of my FAVE brands)
I received the 8-in-1 palette in the metallic shades along with a black glimmerstick (reviewed).

First thing first… Eyebrows!!! Eyebrows shape my face, so I believe that eyeshadow and any form of eye make up draws attention to the eye area.

Although you don’t need to have lots of colors to be an expert artist, I suggest that 3 colours be used for a neutral effect.

Pat the eyeshadow across your lid. This will help it to stick to your lid better, and give a solid look.

I used an eyeshadow brush (prefered than those foam tips)and sweep the lightest colour from inner corners of your eyes, sweeping it across the crease as well. Apply a bit of it as well just below your eyebrows.

Take your color that is one step darker cover the entire lid, from your lash line to your crease. Don’t go too much further above your crease or outwards from the corner of your eye.

Then with the next colour, begin at the outside corner of your eye, and brush in a half-moon motion up and around to the crease. Keep the shadow the darkest along your lash line, and fade it out as you move up. I added more to the end of the eyebrow for a different effect.

With the different colours on your lid, I then used a clean brush to completely make all 3 colours blend in nicely. Some mascara, and eyeliner, an I’m good to go ?

Loved this...especially seeing as it was my first attempt. :-)

I was very happy when I received the 8-in-1 palette as I looooove eyes!
I love the fact that the colour doesn’t need much applying to get the effect of the actual colour.
First applied some light shimmer from the metallics range, then over that, a few dabs of what seems to be mauve, but actually brown. Slap on some Liquid eye-liner, and this is a look that I personally like day or night. Its light enough for the day, and sparkly for meeting friends

Im so loving my eyeshadows! You know to tell u the truth i always saw avon make up cheap and the quality was not so great!! But my eyes still cant believe that i have been applying the new avon palette and guess what ITS LASTING!!

This look is amazing so I have to put it up. The colour is so deep and shimmery, I used the brown and silver and peach and black for this look, along with the Blackest Black Glimmerstick and a sweep of mascara!

Wow.... i have finally received my 8-in-1 palette eyeshadow and Glimmersticks eyeliner.I love I love I love I love I love.... The eyeshadow has a soft texture,i love the glimmer and shine,I love the colors, they are beautiful for both day and evening.I received more than 20 likes on my pics because of this eyeshadow so that says something.The Glimmerstick eyeliner is so easy to use,it is soft and lasts longer.Thank You Avon for creating these products for us,the packaging is perfect and beautiful oh..and thank you for the tips on how to apply one does not have to be a pro to use this Palette in fact i can now apply make up like a pro....

I must say i am in love,i was never crazy about eye shadows and eye liners,but now i am hooked. I love the colours,how creamy and subtle they are,since i am just starting to explore with eye shadows,i feel like they are made just for me.I am in love with the colours,and so are my friends and colleagues.

I attended a woman's day function at work on Friday and people who know me know i don't wear eye shadows,but on Friday i did,and wow did i turn heads.And on Saturday it was my son's birthday party,everyone was complimenting me,on how beautiful the colours of the eye shadows were,and how they made my brown eyes look super sexy.

The more I use my eye palette the more I fall in love with it. Did a smokey eye for Saturday night, and it really made me look enchanting. I loved being the belle of the ball, and even ended up doing my sisters as well. The colour built up nice an deep and didn't fade throughout the night. In fact my sister has just ordered one for herself!!!

I really enjoy using the avon products

Oh I just love experimenting with makeup products. It’s just so much fun with all the colours and techniques. Now, if you know me, you will know that I am not really for the full coverage heavy makeup look. I prefer to keep it simple, natural and light. So when this metallic eye shadow palette came along and I saw the colours in the palette, I knew instantly that I was about to leave my comfort zone of natural and earth-toned eye shadow looks. I sampled one or two of the colours on the back of my hand. These are definitely daring colours and most suited for a night out on the town. But, I was willing and being the curious little kitten I am, I started to feel that excitement bubbling up and began to think of all the crazy smoky eyes I could create. I love this palette. Just looking at the fantastic colours inspires me to want to create...I've got two looks down (first look posted on my blog http://missaddymblog.wordpress.com/)...looking forward to creating more.

I received my eye shadow this week and love the colours & texture amazingly it lasts long as well usually halfway through my day I barely have any on this really worked well for me.

So I used this again today and used the colours, I got three complements so that tells me it's different from my usual look. And is the best guide as to what products I will choose to buy again. Go Avon

I just got my parcel today and i am super excited! I went to the post office in the evening and got my slip. It was a surprise when i got my envelope. When i opened it, what did i find, My Avon Eye pallete and a Glimmerstick as well as the avon make up booklet.

Its 11:49 pm now and i am beside myself with excitement and i just did a swatch of the pallete and i'm loving the feel of it.

TEXTURE AND COLOR

Let me first talk about the texture of the eyeshadow and the color. The texture is so good, and the colours are nice and deep. I just had to swipe once with my finger to apply on my wrist when doing a swatch and i didn't need to apply again because it was just enough.

I found that the gold, yellow and bronze are quite exciting for a day-look because they will blend in nicely with my skin color and tone.The blue, aqua are very good if you want a bold look. The other dark colors are great for a smokey and light ones for highlighting.

Its interesting because at the back of the box they give tips on how to apply the make up in a way that is modern and nice. I have played a bit with make up and im looking forward to giving you a review on how the make up looks and how long i wore it with/ without smudging.

So far the packaging looks amazing and the eyeshadows have a nice feel or texture and the colors have a good intensity. Will follow this up with pictures.

A 8 colour palette with every colour you need to create a smokey eye look or a nice colour impression for an evening out. Nice and compact so will fit into the smallest of hand bags. I love the shades available in this compact as all my others either have neutrals or a single colour in different shades. This has my neutrals and colours in one compact! The colours suit my skin tone very well, and the metallic shimmer is just the cherry on top. I prefer this for evening use because of the metallic but that's just me. Overall it's a worthwhile buy and I will definately be buying one when this one runs out.
