i am in love love love with this product!! I get the best coverage using this product. You only have to apply a small small amount to cover your whole face, i use a little bit of cream so it covers my face evenly. It leaves such a nice smooth surface, no lumping and no smudges left on my face! quick to apply. I use maybellines mineral powder after applying the mousse and the outcome is phenomenal! i will definitely be buying this product for ever!
So this product has been around for quite some time, but recently I went out to purchase a new tub, so I thought I'd do a quick memory refresh and miniature review so you could go check out this product out if you haven't already gotten your hands on the product as yet!
So what is the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse? This amazing foundation is a fluffy mousse foundation which has a lovely velvet feel on fingertips as well as a elastic feel. Once applied to skin the mousse foundation becomes absolutely light and dries on skin to a smooth, velvet matte finish, so there's no powder touch ups.
Why I love this product? This product is meant for oily skin, it's absolutely light and keeps skin looking dewy fresh all day long, plus it gives skin a lovely medium coverage so there's an even skin tone and a beautiful fresh looking face all day.
Product Packaging This Dream Matte Mousse comes in a small pot with a lid that indicates the colour of the foundation. The pot may look really small, however the product is extremely long lasting and a pot can last me up to 6 months
Product Texture The product has an amazing air mousse feel which is light, fresh and fluffy. It feels amazing on skin.
How to apply This foundation is simple to apply with finger tips because its easier to blend, and you won't require a lot of the product.
Why I recommend this product? I would recommend this product because its perfect for oily skin because it leaves skin with a ,aye finish. The product is also Fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested, allergy tested and won't clog pores or irritate skin so it's perfect if you have sensitive skin! Plus the product is available in over 16 different shades.
In love with this product as it keep me blossoming when I have it on, like I am not lying! people that knows me will be like "you look different and on point"! The texture of the product is amazingly smooth and blends well in my skin. #greatprice #withbuying BUT... My skin gets a bit dry when using it on winter But... I perfectly love it!
This was my first makeup purchase. I wanted something that was simple to apply and this was perfect. It was in mousse form, making it easy to apply.
The packaging is in a small cylindrical glass container, which makes it perfect and easy for travelling. The texture of the foundation is very unique, it has a velvety texture which makes it easy for application.
The thing I loved most about this product is that it was perfect for a make up 'no make up' look. a good choice for everyday application or when in a hurry to do make up.
It has a wonderful matte finish that enables the make up to stay on for much longer.
I have used this Mousse for about 10 years now, and I must say its a great make up for sensitive skin. It does rub off but in all honesty I have yet to find a make up that doesnt and I have used quite a few different "stayfast" ones. The glass little jar is uber chic and you can apply this with your fingers, damp sponge or make up brush. It comes in a variety of shades to suit most skin tones and offers great coverage. It retails for around R200.00 which makes it one of the most affordable foundations out there.
This product never ceases to amaze me. It is super blend-able and super light weight . Its easily applied with finger tips or a damp beauty sponge.
The texture is fluffy and soft like actual mousse but even though the formula looks thick its actually very light weight and a little goes a long way !
One application is enough and it leaves a smooth matte finish so powder is not necessarily required .
There are plenty of colors available so you are bound to find one that suits your skin tone.
Maybelline has had some hits and misses with their products - from barely pigmented lipsticks to mismatching foundations. I ordered the Dream Matte Mousse because of the price (on sale for R65) and I wanted something to give me a truly matte finish without drying my skin. I was given just that with this product. The powdery finish means my blush, eyeshadow, bronzer and highlighter blends beautifully. And after wearing it all day I had very little shine. I do bake with a powder after applying foundation, so this adds to the product's longevity. Great wear time, great finish, great price point and buildable coverage. Definitely a great addition to a newbie's makeup collection.
This is a black girl friendly product. The undertones of this product are just perfect. I didn't worry about the product oxidising and getting all weird and dark on my skin. It stayed true to its shade. I have very dry skin which worried me a lot when it came to the product. I prefer foundations that do not dry the skin.This foundation is unique, it has a definite matte finish but it doesn't leave your skin dry and gasping for air. It drys to a powdery finish and I don't have to worry about setting it with powder and I can easily add moisturiser to the foundation and it will give me the right amount of coverage, dewy-ness and a good hold powder finish. Thumbs up for this one!
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, is easy to apply, blends in well to give a natural skin tone. The product is no spillage in the container and is easy to carry around when a touch up is needed. Overall, a nice neat and simple product.
A fairly average foundation, i used this some time back, and tried it again recently, Its very velvety and easy to apply, i find that it accentuates the dry skin spot on my face though, something i definitely try to hide (hence me stop using it), i find that its not very long wearing and rubs off on my clothes, so would not revert back to as a foundation staple.
I did not like this product! I found it shifted easily and would roll off in balls if i touched my face! It's v mattifying and made my skin feel taut n uncomfortable! Probably for younger skins!
My skin is very fair, and the lightest shade was still too orange. It looked like orange and brown mud. The texture is clumpy. It will often form little foundation balls that you need to rub and rub to blend into the skin. It sits on top of the skin rather then blending into the skin I also found that it rubs off easily. You can't blow your nose, because then you will have to reapply foundation. I also had to rub hard to get it to blend and not be streaky. For the price I am really not impressed. There are cheaper brands out there with mousse foundations that costs a ¼ of Maybelline's price. I didn't even bother to give it to someone else.
