I tried out the Johnson's® Hydration Essentials 2-in-1 Facial Gel Mask (for normal to combination skin), because it was December, it was hot and my skin needed hydration ASAP, as I was peeling quite a bit. I picked this up in Dischem, as it caught my eye while I as browsing and I was really surprised by how much I liked it!
The consistency is like a smooth lightweight jelly/gel formula, and soaks into the skin very fast, feeling a tad sticky at first, but the more it soaks in, the more velvet your skin feels. I used it every evening and sometimes every morning, but because I have oily skin, I tried to not overdo it. You also have the option of using the moisturizer as a face mask, by applying quite a thick layer on your face and allowing it to sink in for 15 to 20 minutes and then wiping the excess off. I didn't really use this feature, as I have other face masks that I use on a regular basis.
I really loved how soft and smooth my skin became after using it and how well it soaked into the skin without leaving a gross residue. As you can see, I finished the bottle!

It feels like just a splash of water in the face. I use this product mostly after gym, well of course got to shower first:-) it leaves my skin feeling hydrated throughout the night for me to have a peaceful sleep. Yes it's light and not tight, but just right for my face. I have forever trusted Johnsons, now it's time for you to do the same. Oh did I mention the revitalising and refreshing scent...it's to die for.

I found that although this gel felt like it was going to be great, it burnt my face quite badly. It made it tingle and eventually it was burning so badly that I had to take it off before the recommended time was up. It left my skin red and patchy. The redness disappeared and my skin felt a lot softer but I don't think it was worth the burning feeling. I tried the gel 3 or 4 times afterwards at different times of the day but it burnt my skin each time. I think this is one of those products that either agrees with your skin or doesn't!

I have been using this gel moisturiser and mask since the day I received it and am very pleased. The moisturiser is in a cute little blue jar and the gel itself is blue tinged and smells fresh and breezy. I generally don't like using creams in a jar but I will let this slide.
The texture is really great, it is light and just soaks into my skin. I love that it sinks in and feels like nothing yet keeps my skin just the right amount hydrated. I haven't gotten oily during the day with this either. I think it is a wonderful affordable option for girls like me with combination skin. I didn't get a chance to use it as a mask but imagine it to be an extra drink of moisture for those tired days when your skin just needs a little push in the hydration department.
have I seen a visible difference? not really, but to be fair my skin was not problematic to begin with.

It was and still is a wonderful product. May face feels so much better every time. I normally leave it on for 3 minutes and then wipe with damp cloth or cotton pads. Thank you guys for sharing. I would recommend this to anyone.

I was super keen to try out this 2-in-1 delight from Johnson's as I'm a big fan of a face mask - especially a hydrating one!
The formula of the gel is super light and a little goes a long way. The gel is lightly fragranced with a nice fresh scent and is lovely to put on in the morning as it gives you a little zing and wakes your face up!
When used as a moisturizer, the gel left my skin feeling fresh and awake. No greasiness at all. My skin was definately softer to the touch and remained hydrated throughout the day which was great.
When used as a mask, my skin felt super smooth afterwards and I ended up wiping some of the excess of, but massaging most of it back into my skin. It's also great not only having the mask and moisturizer combo, but one that you feel comfortable using as a day and night cream.

I have been putting of this review for a while now as my life has been rather busy lately. However, I’m a survivor, having gone through final year exams, a few job interviews and various other functions. This is one of the worst times for one to change their skincare routines, especially if like me; your skin is very sensitive and easily breaks out.
To date I have been using both the face gel and cleansing wipes for just over two weeks now and my skin has never looked better! I am amazed that I have not had any blemishes nor has my skin reacted adversely to this cream. The product is light in texture and has an invigorating scent. My skin is very oily and it did not change the overall appearance of my face by the afternoon when compared to my previous face cream. I even used it as a mask after late nights and it works just as good.
Overall this product has surprised me. The texture of my skin has only slightly improved and it is glowing. A great addition for the coming season and it can be used as an after sun treatment. My only exception would be that it does not help with pigmentation, but otherwise a good face cream at an affordable price that will definitely get you through a few all nighters!
