I usually go and do my nails at a salon, but sometimes i do not have a lot of time between work and weekend shenanigans, so I always run to the ESSENCE section in Clicks or Dis-chem. I must say that it lasts about 3 days before chipping at the least which is great because, compared to other brands I have used, this is quality for money.

Staying true to Essence's MO, this nail polish gives one great quality at a great price.
To get the best out of these polishes, I would recommend using the other Essence nail care products.
They boast a wide range of colours and leave your nails with a professional gel finish. The polish isn't extremely durable and leaves you with a medium to long wear.
Hack: to get a matte finish, hold your nails to dry over some steam directly after painting them :)

I am a big essence fan, i have been using their nail polishes for years. I love the fact that there is a huge range of colours, and with one coat you already get alot of pigment, these colours are not sheer at all.
I would recommend this to all nail enthusiasts, Essence is also cruelty free, which is a big win in my books.

This is my most awesome, favourite and most easiest application ever. It's just a x3 step (base coat/colour/ top coat)programme love the the colour variants, the quality and most of all the high gloss finish. Leaving your nail super smooth and super glossy. The best thing I love about the essence product it's not just affordable it's super affordable and always and convenient to purchase ...I just love this product ...can't wait to check out the new summer colours! I don't know even know how many nail polishes I have in this range... they are just bomb!! Last about 5 days without chipping which is good for me because I like switching up my colours often anyway, Finding a great quality nail polish is hard at this price even harder, 1 layer of this is enough it really shows up on the nail it is absolutely bomb!! I have two of these polished and I must say that they are a get value for the money. It is super affordable and they have such a good range of colours to choose from. Its always important to use a good top coat with them as they will last longer. Will definitely be purchasing more of them. I have quite a nail polish collection including Nail Inc. and OPI and I definitely still enjoy using these on a daily basis.

The Essence Gel polishes are great value for money. They come in a very wide range of shades. They do not last more than 3 or 4 days on my nails (I am particular hard on my nails), but for the price I really can't complain! At the moment I am very impressed with shade no. 58 'need your love'! Definitely comparable to one of my all time favourites - Essie 'wicked'

It's cheap but it does not chip quickly. It's probably the only nail polish I use. I love the nude colour. I always feel pretty once I've done my nails with it .

I love this product especially since getting nails done at a salon can often be expensive ! Whats great about this product is it givens you a salon finish at a cheaper price. The Essence The Gel range is on of my favourites for a quick fix if I can't afford to buy the name brand nail polish or go to the salon to get my nails done. Its easy to use (the application brush is good). It dries quickly plus it gives you that gel look. I'd definetly recommend this to anyone only downside is that its a little smaller than usual brands but its very cheap if you buy it at Dischem or Clicks

I am so happy to have found this range. I have been doing my nails for years but since moving to Jhb it has been quite difficult to find a nail technician that is constant and does not charge an arm and a leg.
So what I do - I go to any salon for just a natural gel overlay and then I play around with the the Gel colours! And it looks great! I struggle with very weak nail growth so i can go up to 6 weeks doing this without my nails chipping away.
And it has that salon look! I love the black - its such an amazing winter colour that just goes with anything.

Whilst living in Russia, I couldn't get my nails done anymore, it was way too expensive at R1000 for a manicure!
I had to learn to do my own nails.
I bought essence, the cute nail polish bottles got my attention and I loved that it was gel.
I now have almost every color, not only does it look super pretty on my dressing table, its a great nail polish if you know how to use it correctly.
Don't apply a thick layer to your nails, rather apply two or three thin layers and use drying spray in-between paints so that it does not get sticky.
It will last upto one week without chipping if you use a regular top coat, longer if you use invest in a higher quality top coat like Sally Hansen or Essie - and I'm a girl who takes really long showers and swims often.
Finish off with a good cuticle oil.
On fake nails it dries instantly.
The Matt options look superb!
Get a few glitter options to add texture to color.

Love how essence has affordable products but this nail polish is definitely prone to chipping. And I usually find it gets sticky instead of completely drying out in my opinion. Would recommend you try it as it is affordable, but not a personal favourite.

I received the shades, 75 perfect match, as well as, 77 dreaming of love?, from beauty bulletin and I absolutely love the 75 perfect match was my absolute favourite.
The application was really easy and the colour was perfect from the first stroke, however you can add another layer if you want the colour to show more. The nail polish also dried extremely fast. I do not have much patience so the fact that these dried very fast was absolutely perfect.
I also liked the brush, it is wider than other nail polish brands, but it personally made the application process easier as it evenly spread on the nail.
Now what I didn't like was the fact it cracked and chipped really fast. My nail polish chipped within 2 days and after washing my hair it was completely ruined. Although the application process was easy for me, it did become a little messy as it went onto my skin as well but that didn't bother me.

Application brush size is a dream the wider the nail is. It however smudges so much if nails are broader. Thick brush also makes it difficult to reach the nail edges without over-smudging.
For me personally, the nail polish on my nails doesnt last very long. I must say though that the nail polish lasts so much longer when applied to artificial nails..

I am the type of person where my mind is always running a million miles an hour and my wheels are always turning, honestly I can barely keep up with my own thoughts. And so I’m sure you can imagine that it takes a lot to quiet my mind; whatever activity I am doing in that moment needs to entirely consume my mind and one of the few activities that does that successfully is doing my nails.
You can’t speak about nail polish without assessing the brush first. So let me just start off by saying I don’t know who designed the essence nail polish brushes, but they did a great job because it is literally perfection. It makes application so easy leaving your nail polish looking smooth without a single patch even with just one coat.

The thing i love about this product the most is the brush that it comes with. It has a wide brush that can cover the nail more and when the nail polish is a thin layer, its the best and dries way faster. I have many colours and the ladies in my family also use them alot.
Essense is definitley a good brand.
The nail polish is pigmentated so you really dont have to apply alot of coats unless its a really light colour and you want it to have more colour.

Between my sisters and I, we own almost every shade from this collection. Whats not to love? Its an affordable way to having neat looking nails without the expensive salon price. The Gel finish is beautiful and it dries really fast!
As a fashion designer, I work with my hands daily and put a lot of strain on my nails so I'm lucky if I can go 7 days without chipping the colour. For me, 7 days is good enough, especially at this price and touching up is quick and easy.

To make sure that the nail polish lasts longer I always apply a base coat and top coat. The nail polish lasts about a week. Sometimes I o have to do a few touch ups as the week goes on.

Essence has really nailed it with this range of nail polish. It is really affordable, and available almost everywhere. There is a wide range of colours to pick from - the "dare it nude" shade is my favourite. The consistency of the polish is also really good, one coat will definitely do, but I like to add an extra coat.
The only con would be that it does not last that long on the nails. After about 2 days some chipping might occur. But it definitely doesn't stop me from wanting to buy more shades.

Essence is one of my favourite nail polish ranges. They always have the most amazing colour and plenty to choose from. I have been using Essence - The Gel range since it was released and I own almost every colour. I love that there’s always a new variety of colours to choose from as well my continuously re-stocked favourite go-to colours.
On top of everything they are cruelty free and don’t test on animals!
Essence has never disappointed with the quality of their products and I will always be a big supporter!

Essence is one of my favourite brands of drug store make up. It's affordable, has a great variety and the quality is not lacking.
These cute nail polishes are perfect for a quick change of colour without throwing out more than R100.00 for one. It allows you to switch up your nail colour and play around with nail art (of which Essence also has a fun range).
Most of the time, with a double coat & Essence base coat on top, the polish would last about 3 days before chipping on my nails. Considering you're paying R22.00 for them, it's pretty great!

Essence has long been one of my favorite beauty brands because of its accessibility, variety and price. The Gel Nail Polish range reminds me exactly why I love this brand. For only R22 a bottle you can get pretty much any color under the sun. The brush spreads the nail polish perfectly across each nail, there is no strong odor and it dries quickly. I also love that with most colors you only have to do one coat as the colors are pretty opaque. This makes your mani time quick and easy.

I LOVE the Essence range of Gel Polish! :D
They have an extensive range of colours and styles!
They apply evenly and smoothly without patchiness. Only one or 2 coats are needed.
I find that this polish lasts longer than normal ones, and is incredibly affordable for the quality!
I recommend these to all my friends :)

Essence has always been slamming it with their great nail polishes. The Gel line is even better. The product is "thick" enough to coat your nail in a fully opaque colour in the 1st go and leaves your nails with that "gelled" look which looks expensive and professionally done.
The colour range is amazing and the price is unbeatable. The polish dries down fast and removes easily as well. So you could easily have a different nail look every few days. The brush shape is the best part. It is a square/oval brush instead of the old-school slim brushes that messed up the sides of your nails. The container is super cute and dainty and the applicator is easy to hold even in your "dumb" hand.

this is a must have product, i have been using it since the begging of last year, and i fell in love with nail polish, as a working mother of a toddler i never have time to do my nails as often as i would like. But this product made it easy for , it last long and the gel finish doesn't fade easily .
