I recently walked through Clicks and I always find myself stopping at the Essence stand to see what new Trend line they have out and what nail art products are available. I have liked Essence eyeshadows for a long time now and set my eyes on the quattro eyeshadows - I couldn't leave the store without one (Especially because it was just under R45 for the 4 shadows)!
As with other essence eyeshadows these last incredibly well and can be built up to provide a multitude of different degrees of pigmentation on the eye lids. What this means is that each palette can be used for subtle day time looks or darker night time looks.
Another thing I really liked is that you can buy a few of these sets and use colours from the various palettes to create a seemingly never ending list of looks to try out.

This is a safe buy because the price is so super cheap and you get four colours to play with! It creates a dramatic effects for day and night which I did not expect from this brand. Worth going out there and buying all palletes.

WOW!
I think anyone would agree that when walking past the Essence stand, it is hard to turn away without gazing at the beautiful selection of Quattro Eyeshadows. There is a stunning variety to choose from, but being brown eyed- I chose the violet.
I find that the eyeshadow is long lasting. I use it to do a stunning smokey eye, that is always complimented for the touches of violet. The quality is great as it is a soft powder, so applies nicely without harming the eyes.
The size is convenient and can be put in your handbag, gym bag, etc- so is great.

I use these shades everyday! All these eyeshadows are highly pigmented and easy to use. I love these browns because you can achieve a lot of different looks - dark smokey eye, an everyday look etc. I definitely think these quattro eyeshadows are a great investment especially if you're a beginner :)

I purchased the eyeshadow quad in the above colour - a set of 4 nudes/browns.
It is fantastic! Great quality shadow, and I even use the lighter one as a highlighter and the matte dark one to fill in my eyebrows - it really is such a multi-purpose little product!
The colours are nicely pigmented and blend really well.
Definite repurchase, and the lovely price is just an added bonus!

this is perfect for the every day - natural make up wear and some days you can put it on a little darker and it can create a nice smokey eye look

I was very skeptical at first as my skin and eyes are very sensitive and not all products works on my skin but presently surprised i was when i tested the Essence Eyeshadow range it has beautiful colors its not expensive it works wonderful with my skin and it lasts the whole day leaving me look professional and makes me feel like a million $ i will definitely buy it again

I have two of these products :
15 Most Wanted - shades : white, beige, pink and brown
11 Sea My Eyes - Shades : Pink, light blue, Sea blue and grey
These are so reasonably priced for such great quality. They come in small see through cute round cases
I feel the shadows are so soft, easy to blend, perfect for a smokey eye. They are very pigmented as well .I love the fact that you can take them with you any where. Touch ups no problem. The only thing i did not like was that all the shadows in both cases is only shimmering and no mattes. Overall a great products. Highly recommended!!!

As a brand in general, I absolutely love Essence! They are the only brand that I consider to be extremely reasonable, but still good quality. I have been using the eyeshadow compact pictured above for a reasonable amount of time and it has easily become my go-to eyeshadow for daily use, whether it be for a soft day time look, or a dark smokey eye at night. The colours are really pigmented and I find that they blend together well. Overall the product is extremely versatile as I have even experimented with certain shades for highlighting and contouring.You definitely get more than what you pay for!

I love this palette, especially because I was looking for neutral eyeshadows and I did not have a lot of money to spend, the combination of these colours was really what I was looking for and what I needed. I would definitely recommend this for everyone, especially because it is so inexpensive!

I received the Quattro eye shadow at a bargain in my R100 Essence make up bag. I love the sleek look of the product container, and the colours are perfect for creating a shimmery smoky eyed look. The palette contains four colours: a pale pink, a charcoal grey, and two shades of blue. Love the Essence range as it is completely affordable!

The essence Quattro in emerald green has fantastic colour pay off and come at a reasonable price. Build on each other the deep pigments of the pallet can be used for a to create a dramatic smokey. The high colour pay off also blends well into eyebrows as a fill. All in all it’s a reasonably priced item I defiantly love..

Smokey eyed or fresh faced natural

This particular set is very versatile and can be worn in a myriad of ways! For fresh faced natural the pink and the charcoal grey as a liner! For an evening out use the charcoal and real to build a smokey eye and use the pink as a highlighter! For a soft romantic look pair the pink and the pastel blue! My only drawback here is that the eyeshadow seems to disappear into my skin after a few hours!

Packaging of the product:
The packaging is small and compact making it space friendly and easy to carry around when you are on the go,
or traveling. It is a circular see through case with black branding giving it a element of class.
Eyeshadows:
I took the No.14 magenta and me! which is extremely cute but sophisticated colours.
Two shades of nude and two shades of purple, one being very bright and the other being very dark,
making it great for a summertime day to night look.
The lightest shade of nude, which has a pinkish tone is very light pigmented making it ideal for higher up the eyelid.

The second shade of nude looks more silver/brown but when applied it is a very strong pigmented silver.
The bright shade of purple is what attracted me to the compact but disappointed when I applied it,
it was not as pigmented as expected and more of a pink then purple, but its not the end of the world.
The dark shade of purple is easily applied and you do not have to “force” the shadow on.
Overall I am happy with the product especially for R52.95 which is GREAT value for money.

I just love pre-selected eyeshadow kits! It makes choosing colours that work together so much easier. Having a kit like this saves space and you don’t have any unwanted colours that will just go to waste.This set has 4 beautiful colours that are great to use for a smokey eye.

These quads are of great quality. The colours all work wonderfully together to create either a subtle or bold look depending on how heavy-handedly you work. The highlighter shade in my quad which is the "07 Over The Taupe" is excellent. Very creamy and not chalky at all. I find the 2nd darkest and darkest to be my favourite though although I must say the transition colour is wonderful as well.
I do find though that you have to layer the product to get a very pigmented look as they are not as intense as some of the other essence eyeshadows. They work wonderfully on the go as a travel quad. You get 2 mattes and 2 shimmers which are your basic shadows for creating an eye look with some depth.
I just wish they had a much wider colour variety. I have only spotted 3 so far. Mine, a warm neutrals one and an emerald one. I would love to get one in Maroon shades, purples and blues and maybe one super shimmery, glittery one to add dazzle to your eyes.

It comes with 4 colours.
Mine has white, light green, dark green ( very dark ) and a turquoise type of colour.
These 4 colours go very nicely together. I purchased this to do a "Poison Ivy" look and it worked very well.
Only negative: These colours are also not that intense so you have to apply a lot.
