All Cracked Up?! – Skin Care

For optimal skin care we need to face it, or should I say; “foot it”. Those to puppy’s (who are probably now as you are reading this stuffed into a pair of nine-west stilettos or a pair of sissy boy boots), really do take the plunge.Bring on the latest in advanced pedicures.
“You can tell a lot about a person by their heels; it is their soul after all”?

So let’s face it, or should I say; “foot it”. Those to puppy’s (who are probably now as you are reading this stuffed into a pair of nine-west stilettos or a pair of sissy boy boots), really do take the plunge.

Whether you are a lawyer, a doctor, surgeon, a hair stylist, teacher, P.A or a mom… you know what it is like to have over worked and tired feet! So I say: TREAT it. After all there is no point in investing in a pair of Nine West’s of R900 + and your feet don’t do them justice. (And yes I did say invest, anything that makes you feel fabulous should be seen as an investment).

What causes cracked heels?
•    Walking bare foot
•    Excessive pressure on your feet, caused by long periods of standing
•    Incorrect footwear – (I would NEVER suggest you give up your shoes, you could have my car, but don’t touch the shoes).
•    Hereditary (blame it on the parentals)
•    Lack of a good foot-care routine

Good news:
Advanced pedicure
Welcome to the new world of advanced pedicure’ and advanced pedicure peels:

What is an advanced pedicure?

An advanced pedicure is an add-on to a basic pedicure.
During a basic pedicure the following will be done:
-A foot soak and exfoliation
-Filing
-Cuticle work
-Nail shaping (filing, buffing and shaping)
-Nail Painting

Thus an advanced pedicure is the same as a basic pedicure, but with “add on” treatments such as:
•    Foot massage: To improve circulation of lymph drainage thus combating swollen feet.
•    Paraffin wax treatment: A rich form of wax that the foot is dipped into after the foot massage. It has a softening and hydrating effect on dry and course feet.

What is an advanced pedicure peel?

This treatment you could have as an add-on to a basic or advanced pedicure, or simply have it on its own. We at LUSH have decided to take the pedicure to the next level.

The treatment is a chemical peel for your feet.
We apply the treatment to your areas of concern (heels or calloused areas). Wait 10-15 minutes, whip it of and BOOM: smooth skin.

Gone are the days of foot filing till the cows come home.

So how often should you come for a Pedi-peel?
You could have the treatment every time you visit us for your regular pedicure, as a once of or as a course of 3 treatments, this will al depend on the severity of your cracked heel’s and calloused areas.

I would recommend you come to try this treatment as soon as our doors open. We have had the treatment done myself with wonderful results, but don’t take my word for it…
