Skin Conditions
We are all beautiful and different in our own way – and we all have different problems and/or features that we either want to disguise or flaunt. Skin care is no exception, and we all feel beautiful when our skin is in tip top shape.
Skin unfortunately, gets exposed to harsh outdoor conditions, wind, heat and sometimes temperatures in the minus depending on where you live, and these factors as well as the advent of aircons, or maybe you travel a lot in a plane or maybe you are a sun worshipper – whatever the case may be – your skin probably takes a pounding! Stress and lack of sleep also don’t do our skin any favours. All these factors disturb the equilibrium of the skin, and contribute to the appearance of problems like dehydration, excess sebum production and even broken capillaries.
Take a look which skin type best describes you, and try these snippets of advice!

Dry skin
Dry skin could be due to underactive sebaceous glands, and skin could be slightly thinner on a dry skinned person than on an oilier person. Their skin will also probably have less visible pores. Skin could appear flaky, and it may be difficult to get the foundation to blend into the skin – it may look like your foundation is sitting ‘on top of the skin’ no matter how much you blend.

Advice? Use sunscreen. Moisturise regularly and drink lots of water. Capsules containing Vitamin E oil or Primrose oil are great for massaging onto the skin for a moisture boost! Lay off copious amounts of coffee and/or alcohol, as these will just add to you looking tired and dehydrated. Get enough sleep too. It’s the best beauty fix!

Oily skin
This skin type will normally have a slightly thicker epidermis due to overactive sebaceous glands, and thus pores could appear enlarged. The T- zone will be oilier than the rest of the skin, and dead skin build -up may give one’s skin a ‘dull” look.

Advice? Exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells. Use one of the amazing skin primers on the market to prep skin before you apply foundation. This acts like a ‘polyfiller’ as it contains silicone ( among other ingredients) and smoothes the skin and hides any holes or bumps or large pores and is also a  wonderful way to make your foundation last a bit longer during the day. Use an astringent after moisturizing to close pores and to help with blackheads. Carry a blot powder or blotting tissues with you during the day to powder or blot your T- zone.

Normal skin
Aaah… we saved the best for last! This has perfect hydration and is normally found on younger people who have not had children or experienced hormonal changes which comes with having kids! Skin has good circulation and a healthy glow. Plump and gorgeous!

Advice? Enjoy the best beauty skin care while it lasts!
