L’Eau D’Issey Absolue is not a new concentration of L’Eau D’Issey. It’s an unprecedented interpretation – a luminous floral based on honey and night-blooming jasmine.
A composition featuring flowers, sun and honey. To evoke this natural world brimming with light and enveloped in the warmth of the sun, Master Perfumer Olivier Cresp chose night-blooming jasmine, a flower that unveils its intense, voluptuous fragrance at sunset.
“The word Absolue does not by any means refer to a concentration or increased dose of ingredients. Rather, it speaks of the trail’s presence and potency, and of rich and textured raw ingredients. Just like night-blooming jasmine, which is warm, luminous and fills the atmosphere with its fragrance.” O. Cresp.
Delicate and transparent with their lotus flower and freesia accord, the top notes of L’Eau D’Issey Absolue are reminiscent of flower petals that are moist with morning dew. These two notes are also found in the original L’Eau D’Issey fragrance, they convey the same olfactory impression focusing on transparency.
The accord then becomes increasingly intense and potent, like when nature gradually warms up with the sun. The core of the composition is revealed, when the night-blooming jasmine unveils its flowery notes. Olivier Cresp has enhanced these notes with a touch of tuberose to include the voluptuous accents so typical of white flowers.
And as the lovely amber light from the sun emerges at dusk, it turns the petals of night-blooming jasmine golden, with the same radiance that inhabits the L’Eau D’Issey Absolue bottle.
In the heart of the fragrance, Provence honey absolute plays the leading role, revealing itself to be as essential as the night-blooming jasmine. It brings richness and intensity, as if the quintessence of jasmine had been captured in “flower nectar”.
Lastly, to ensure the notes at the heart of the fragrance remain in the trail, and are more caressing than ever, the perfumer added the velvety softness of Bourbon vanilla absolute and a precious wood accord. This brings to mind nature, still warm and fragrant with daylight. Night has fallen, but the perfumed presence of jasmine is still there.
