Makeup School for Eyeshadows

lots_of_eyeshadowIt’s tricky knowing which shades of eyeshadow suit which shade of eye colour, below are some recommendations on what makeup colours will suite your peepers.

CORRECT SHADES FOR BLUE EYES:

Warm shades will contrast the blue eyes, drawing attention to them. Coppery tones and rich browns offset blue eyes, making them appear more intense. When selecting eyeshadows for blue eyes, it is better to choose colours that will contrast with your natural eye colour such as shades of brown, grey, camel, taupe, dark browns, blacks, charcoal and copper. Warm shades will contrast the blue eyes, drawing attention to them.

AVOID:
Avoid blue eyeshadow as it competes with your eye colour. If you really LIKE your blue eyes shadow then rather go for silver/grey shadow that has touches of blue within the pigment. This will enhance the eye colour instead of drawing away attention from it.

CORRECT SHADES FOR HAZEL EYES:

Hazel eyes can stand bold shades as they easily adapt to shade variations. Other options include dusty rose, richer pinks, greens and electric blues which will make hazel eyes stand out.

AVOID:

Rich purples and blues. They can make eyes appear muddy and dark, rather than have them standing out.

CORRECT SHADES FOR GREEN EYES:

It’s all about keeping it classic if you have emerald eyes. Choose shades of brown, deep purples, plums, lilacs, and dark greens. For evenings opt for a taupe or gold as a highlighter.

AVOID:
avoid shades of blue and some tones of pink, white and silvers. These shades tend to have cooler (more silver) tones within them and as green is a cool tone itself, it can lead to clashing.

CORRECT SHADES FOR BROWN EYES:

Brown eyes have it fairly easy. You have numerous choices when it comes to eye colour. Opt for deep shades of blue and brown, silvery grey, plum, gold, vanilla, shades of purple and violet. Metallics are also a great way to make brown eyes pop
