yes, it says that it's matte and it really is. price is also really reasonable and I'm loving it
compact enough for me to take it on my advnetures, leaves my skin hydrated and works very good for dry skin like mine

This is by far one of my favourite foundations to use. It's matte which I like, cause it's not like the liquid foundations that are runny. This foundation really covers my blemishes and dark circles under my eyes well without drying my skin out. It also doesn't leave you with an "oily" look a few hours into the day, which is awesome ( hate it when my skin feels oily ). I'm in love with this foundation and would definitely recommend it to others :-)

I was lucky enough to have been sent this from Beauty Bulletin to share my experiences with you guys. First of all with me having really dry skin the word matte really freaks me out. Matte foundations are generally worn by oily skin ladies to matify their face and help control oil. I most certainly don’t have that issue, so that totally put me off – but I still tried it…The shade I was given also seems to be too light for my skin tone – but once I mixed it with my beauty blender it actually blended really well with my skin tone.

So what does Rimmel have to say about their product well Rimmel claims that this foundation is “feather-light, Liquid mousse blends flawlessly for natural – looking all day shine controls. Silky smooth formula that leaves a perfectly Matte, baby – soft finish.”

What do I really think? I love the fact that this foundation comes in a mousse form, it’s easy to blend and it sure does feel light and airy- which is always great for Summer time. The fact that it is matte makes it better suited for oily girls, but if you are like me and can sweat quite abit during those hot Summer days this foundation will definitely come in handy it keeping everything at bay. I do agree with Rimmel this foundation is really smooth and it has a thickish consistency which I some what like.

This foundation however is not as long lasting as I hope it would’ve been, because I sneeze alot with my allergies I tend to wipe my nose alot which leaves foundation coming off by around my nose area and exposes my red nose! Which is not cool especially when you sitting at work. To be fair all my foundations tend to do this with me…
The coverage is really light so don’t expect a full on face with this look, this makes it great for Summer when you aren’t looking for a full coverage look.I like the fact that it comes in a tube and not a glass bottle which can be quite messy knowing me everything will fall everywhere, the tube is easier to control how much product I use with no mess at all!

My skin tends to get super shiny throughout the course of the day, and it gets even worse in hot weather. Heading into the summer season, I was looking for a foundation that would sort that issue out for me. After a bit of asking around, I decided to give Rimmel a shot.
Rimmel sell their Stay Matte foundation in a cute little 30ml tube for about R120.00 at Clicks. I bought it in the shade 201 Classic Beige, which is the second lightest shade they have.

The consistency of this foundation is really weird for something that comes out of a tube. Usually mousse foundations come in a flat pot, but that's not the case with this one! It's not a problem at all, just an observation.
I was really surprised by how little of this product I need to cover my entire face. With most foundations I'll use 2-3 pumps to get full coverage, but with this foundation I need just one small blob the size of a pea. That's the other thing - the coverage offered by this foundation is second to none. It's exceptional! If you've got problem skin like mine, this is definitely worth trying out.
There were two main reasons for me wanting to try this foundation:
1. I'd heard it offered full coverage (and it really, really does)
2. It's supposed to leave a matte finish
So how does it score on the mattifying front?
10 points and a gold star!
At the end of a full day using this foundation, my skin is still matte. What a huge improvement from my usual shiny face! Where has this been all my life? If you're like me and you suffer from shiny skin syndrome, this foundation could be your dream come true.
The downside:
There's barely anything negative that I can say about this product, but there were two small 'issues' that I picked up.
1. The mousse smells a bit like clay which isn't the greatest, but the scent wears off after a couple of minutes. No biggie.
2. It seems like the foundation oxidises a bit after application, and I'm convinced that it turns a darker shade after a few minutes of wearing it. If I purchase this product again, I'll probably go for a lighter shade to compensate for that!
Overall a really great product and I'd definitely buy it again.

In the search for an affordable oil free foundation I decided to try Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation because it was much cheaper then all the other oil free foundations.
And I must say it really does keep skin matt throughout the day and it is long wearing.
It also is quite thick so has good coverage.
The problem I did have with it though is that there are so few shades to choose from and all the shades seem to have a pinkish undertone.. and my skin has more of a yellow or olive skin type undertone.
So because of the colour and the fact that its a bit too thick for my liking I have to mix it with my BB cream.. then its fine. But dont think I would buy it again

When I received the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation, I was a little unsure as to how the texture would feel in comparison to just a liquid foundation. Turns out, this foundation is significantly thicker than the regular liquid foundation. I was impressed at the coverage this foundation provides and it did wonders to hide my current break out and reduce the visibility of dark rings under the eyes! The matte finish is great and my skin definitely looked smoother and even. This product is very affordable and is a good quality product.
Personally I prefer a non-mousse foundation but I think this foundation will come in handy when I need an some extra coverage! All in all I give this product a thumbs up for quality and effectiveness.
