Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Gel-Cream

I have been using this product for a few months and I have to say, I am in love with it. Completely fragrance and free and hydrating, this gel cream has worked quite well for my dry and sensitive skin. I have tried many face creams and products but this gel has been my favorite. It added a glow to my skin, hydrated it and helped with dark eye circles. I would recommend this to all the lovely women and men with dry skin who are looking for a good cream and are honestly exhausted from spending so much on creams that don't do much for them.

I suggest using another light moisturizer on top of this because using this alone won't fully moisturize your face. It also suits all skin types perfectly! It has become my most loved skincare product and I cannot go a day without using this. Money worth spending!

I have combination skin which tends to get very oily in the Tzone as the day goes by. When I initially bought this product it was summer soooo it didn't really work well for me, I then resorted to using the Neutrogena Hydroboost cream gel at night and the City Shield with SPF during the day which worked for me. As the seasons moved into winter, city shield ended up being a bit drying my skin lost its radiant glow. I started mixing the cream gel with the city shield and it made a HUGE difference.

I would definitely recommend this product to combination skin types who's skin gets a bit dry during winter. It provides moisture but doesn't make you super oily. Also it didn't make me break out.

Another product that was quite the hype. So, I really loved this initially. It checked so many boxes.

Doubles as a primer

and the list goes on..... However, after a while I did start to notice that my skin was getting very congested.

This was a bummer for me, because other than that - I loved this moisturiser. I am curious to know if anyone else experienced this???

Okay beauties, this product is absolutely amazing and keeps skin hydrated and fresh all the time, but the reason I will not repurchase is because it's not for my skin. I would not recommend this product to you if you have combination or oily skin, especially if you suffer from acne because of oily skin.

Very refreshing and moisturizing

Where to start....Well, this is a nice enough product, but I'd recommend this to normal skinned ladies and gents. This is definitely not super moisturising, but I like the fact that it's fragrance free. It also behaves well under makeup. This must have silicon in, but I don't react to it, so not a problem for me. Alll in all, does the job, but it won't change your skin.

This is my favourite product from the Hydroboost range, and I've repurchased it twice.
I'd been looking for a cheaper product to do what my Clarins HydraQuench cream does, and while this isn't AS good (nothing will be, but for R550 a tub, you're getting what you pay for I think), but this comes the closest of any other product I've tried.
It hydrates and soothes, gives enough nourishment to me at night during summer, and I pop it on under a richer moisturiser even now at night to give an extra boost of hydration.
I'll definitely repurchase again.

I absolutely love Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream!

My skin is usually very dehydrated, so I was super excited to try the Gel Cream! I must say, from the very first time I used it, I could feel a difference. I felt instant hydration and relief! Especially on my lips and around my nose area, where my skin feels most dehydrated. I especially love that it works really well as a base for makeup.

It really is a fantastic product!

I was sent a few of the new Neutogena Hydro Boost products to test out and, boy, have they come in handy! I have been travelling so much in the last few weeks, constant flights between Durban and Johannesburg, and my skin was taking a beating!

I'm sure you've experienced it before, as soon as you start to ascend to a higher altitude (i.e. flying in general or travelling between cities such as Durban and Johannesburg) you start to feel your facial skin tightening and your lips needing a couple extra coats of lip balm. Well, try doing that every week!

My Neutogena Hydro Boost products couldn't have come at a better time!

I was sent three products, their Hydro Boost Cleanser Micellar Water, Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser and their Hydro Boost Gel Cream Moisturiser.

Hydro Boost it certainly does!

My favourite product of the lot was the Gel Cream Moisturiser! The texture of the product is unbelievable and the fragrance is super fresh and clean. In my few weeks of using it, it certainly did a great job of keeping my skin hydrated! My only qualm was that it was slightly too hydrating when I was in Durban as it has been so hot and humid lately! Don't get my wrong, I'll take oilier skin over dry skin any day (oiler skin doesn't crack/wrinkle) but I have proffered using it when I am in the harsher Johannesburg climate.

Hyaluronic acid is the active ingredient in this range. It's moisture-binding characteristic is exceptionally important when it comes to skin aging. One of the qualities of youthful skin is its ability to hold water and retain a balanced amount of moisture. As we age, our skin loses the ability to maintain this vital, plumping moisture as well as it once did. The result is visible loss of firmness, pliability, and diminished appearance of plumpness and suppleness.

Hyaluronic acid can enhance moisture content beyond comparison with anything else, and at the same time revitalize skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer, smoother, and, especially, radiantly hydrated! That’s how it instantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid is quite high up in the ingredient list so that is always a plus, which is especially great for a drugstore product.

I have to say this upfront. I am not a fan of facial gel, although i gave this one a chance and went in with an open mind.
I only used it in the evenings as it doesn't have any SPF or any sun protection which is why i refrained from using it in the mornings. It did however deliver on hydration, it was very smooth and subtle on the skins and my skin did feel very soft the next morning after using it, Which allowed for a much easier application of my makeup.

The Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Gel-Cream is a creamy translucent white gel that moisturizers your skin throughout the day.It is oil free, so it's great for oily skin too! I have combination skin, so I found that I only needed to use a small amount of the gel-cream to moisturize my whole face, and keep it moisturized throughout the day and night, I have been using this product for just over 2 weeks.

Quantity:
The gel-cream container holds 50ml of product. As I mentioned above, the gel-cream goes a long way with my skin type and I found that I've hardly made a dent in the cream, as I can use such a small amount for my face and neck. I will be able to use this for a couple of months I reckon, which really works out well with the price, when you divide the price by how many days use you'll get. I find this a useful trick when I am unsure whether or not to purchase a product.

Scent:
This product is pretty much scentless, which I think would be really great for your skin in the long run, as scented products can often cause breakouts.

Effectiveness:
Due to my skin being combination, I don't suffer with dry skin, except in my T-zone and chin. This cream has helped those areas so much and I find my skin looking dewy all day long. My skin has also become so soft and the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Gel-Cream has eliminated the small imperfections on my face.

Skin benefits:
As I mentioned, my skin has had less breakouts, is way more smooth and I also found that foundation applies so well over the gel-cream. The gel-cream serves as a great primer, while still moisturizing your skin, which a lot of primers lack. I think your skin will thank you that you have to put one less product on, as the gel-cream serves as a great primer.

This is one of my favourite products in the range and I would love to use this again. I enjoy not wearing makeup as much as I enjoy wearing makeup and I love to feel happy in my own skin. I'm a strong believer in making your skin happy and healthy so that you do not NEED to wear makeup to feel confident. These past 2 and a half weeks, I've been rocking a makeup free life and actually felt happy and confident to go to the mall and shops, whereas usually I'm hesitant.

I was fortunate enough to receive a range of products from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Range. One of the products I received was the Hydro Boost Gel Cream. Here are my thoughts:

Price: This product reatils for R139.95 and can be purchased either online, or in multiple pharmacies nationwide. I find that its easy to order and is usually available in stock. That's always a plus! The price might be considered high to some people, but for the quality of the product, you get your money's worth.

Usage: This should ideally be applied to the face after cleansing. I find that applying it at night leaves my skin feeling amazing in the morning.

Skin Type: The product, contrary to believe, doesn't only work great for dry skin. I have combination skin and yet, I love the soft and smooth feeling this moisturiser leaves behind. Neutrogena has ensured that this product can be used for all skin types which I love.

What it does: The gel cream is extremely amazing for moisturising. I find that it really gives me skin its needed moisture. This product works amazingly as a makeup primer well. I find that it smoothes over my pores and leaves my skin very soft.

Overall: I would rate this product a 10/10 just because I love how it makes my skin look and feel. I have tried many moisturisers before, but very few are able to leave my skin this moisturised and smooth. I have noticed a great difference in the moisture of my skin. I would recommend this to anyone!

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream has quickly become a product that I would definitely include in my beauty routine.
The gel cream works great in conjunction with the other products in its range and left my skin feeling silky smooth! I was impressed that I could see the amazing results within just days of using the product.
My skin felt softer and more hydrated. I also noticed that oiliness was reduced and my skin felt more matte.
I definitely felt a difference and my skin has been left refreshed!

This is possibly one of the best moisturisers I have ever used. I have a fairly dry skin and for years I have struggled to find a cream to combat the dryness until now! Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is the best moisturising Gel I have ever used. In comes in a neat tub which is easy to re-seal and looks so pretty.

This Hydro Boost Gel keeps my skin enriched with moisture through out the day, my make-up remains intact for longer, I didn't know the right moisturiser could actually help with this or double as a primer! (Winning!)

I use it both in the morning and at night and I wake up to clear and hydrated skin which makes my morning routine an absolute breeze.

I love, love, love this cream! Mainly because it helped remove some patches of rash I had around my. Ode and chin. Three days into doing this trial and my skin was absolutely, positively RADIANT!

The cream is lightweight and doesn't have that greasy/ heavy effect. I was also pleased that it is 100% fragrance free, my sensitive skin gave a thumbs up for this. Perfect base for makeup.

This cream is an oil-free product as well as fragrance free. I have read a few reviews that say this product is far richer and intense and that they feel they can only use this product at night.
I, however did not find this at all. This product is light on the skin but at the same time extremely hydrating. The product and texture is cooling and soothing on the skin. It is a creamy, white texture and it spreads extremely easily, so only a little is needed! It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin with a non-drying matte look.
I have also found this product to be an amazing primer! My foundation tends to go on to smoothly and all my pores seem to look erased. This definitely was a win for me! I would definitely recommend this gel cream!

This product is just absolutely amazing! My skin is extremely dry and since using this it has been looking beautifully moisturized. I was quite hesitant to change my skincare products but I am quite glad I did. The only downside to this product is that I have to use quite a lot of product to get my skin to the moisturized level I want it to be. Saying that though, when it's at that level it's the best it's ever been. Honestly, my no-makeup selfies have been looking fabulous. Will I splurge every month for perfect skin and great selfies? I think yes!

I was chosen by Beauty Bulletin in the #BBRecruitReview to try out the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream and I must say I was highly impressed. I generally have combination skin, however after the winter months it tends to be dry and in desperate need of a boost! I tried out the entire range for two weeks and this is my say;

The Gel-Cream is almost identical to the Water-Gel, it is smooth and silky and feels like liquid jelly on your face, however it has no scent and I preferred to use it during the evenings before bed! And the best part are the results, my skin has never looked so healthy, hydrated and moisturized after one use! It had me going back for more and more. I used the Gel-Cream daily during my evening skin prep and I am now confident enough to go without makeup to hide all those dry skin patches!

I would highly recommend this if you suffer with dry skin. If you are purchasing the Gel-Cream I don't see a need to purchase the Water-Gel as well. Check out my video uploaded by Megan below.
