Honestly, the best thing about this primer is that it makes your face feel as soft as a baby's bottom. Other than that, it doesn't really minimize pores - In fact, my skin felt like my pores were being suffocated when I used the primer; my foundation just didn't apply as flawlessly as usual...and for the price though...
It's just not worth your buck ladies & gents (if there are gents around here...lol)

My one and only primer I use and will continue to use. A small tube is pricey but a little goes a long way and could be use sparingly. Mine lasts for about 4 months and makes foundation so much easier to apply.

I bought it based on the fact that it has no colour and no scent, because my skin freaks out with any crazy scented things. So I was really excited to give this primer a whirl, but it unfortunately didn't do so much for me. I have a very oily t-zone and dry-ish cheeks and under eyes, and this primer worked well for under my eyes. It prevented cakeyness but on my cheeks/nose/forehead it caused my makeup to split. So after about 2 hours of wear, I looked like a disco ball.
I think this primer works well for extremely dry skin (my sister has really dry skin and she swears by this primer). It really softens the kin, and blurs your pores to some extent - but be warned, if you are an oily lady, your makeup might slip off!

I was so amped to get the babyskin primer because everyone was raving about it but it was a total let down for me. It made my skin more oilier than me not wearing any primer . when applying my make up it looked very smooth but after a hour my face was so oily. Plus point that it made my pores smaller and made my skin very soft.

Soooo, as much as we as females always "want to need things", lets face it, there's a few beauty products we actually DO NEED to complete our daily routines. If you're a believer in everyday makeup or not you'll love this must-have. I am absolutely IN LOVE with my NEW BABY SKIN - instant pore eraser by Maybelline New York. If anything, this baby has been the best thing that has ever happened to my face (HAHA). This product is just absolutely AMAZING! My face literally feels as soft as a baby's bottom minus the oily look (bonus!). I cannot imagine my life without it!

My biggest makeup guilty pleasure is primers. I absolutely love applying primers to my face and seeing it work its magic.
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is a wonderful product to add to your makeup bags ladies!
Although my pores did not vanish like with most people, my skin felt super soft and my foundation applied like a dream. I would definitely say this is the perfect primer for everyday use, maybe not for a long night of partying as my foundation only stays okay for about 5 hours when wearing this.

I've finally jumped on the bandwagon and decided to try a pore eraser/primer to see what all the fuss was about.
I'll be honest and say it was the first primer I found, not knowing exactly what too look for but I gave it a try. Using it as a base coast as well as pore eraser made may make-up last longer and gave me that silky smooth, airbrush finish, my skin felt soft and gave it that healthy look.
It was also my go-to during the beach season when I didn't want to wear too much foundation as I was spending most of my time having a good time and not worrying about my skin.
I will recommend this pore eraser/primer as i have tried as tested others and they haven't met the mark.

Anybody who wears make-up will tell you that the secret to great looking make-up is based on the state of your ''base''. This lightweight pore remover works wonders and can be used alone or before you apply your foundation/bb cream. It smells great and makes your skin appear refined, smooth and pore-less. A little definitely goes a long way with this primer. I have dry skin so using the Baby Skin helps my makeup glide on a lot smoother. With it, my foundation and concealer is less likely to cling to dry patches on my face. I notice that it does increase the longevity of my makeup. I recently came back from a trip to India where I was using the primer everyday. It kept my makeup on lock-down, my face looked as fresh at the end of the day as it did when I applied my makeup in the morning!
I love the packaging, it's so cute. Easy to pop in your makeup bag on the go!
A word of caution: if you have oily skin and are prone to acne, this may not be the primer for your. It adds an extra layer of slickness which you could probably do without.

I picked this up when I ran out of my higher end primer and needed something in a pinch. Its great. It keeps my makeup in place for hours, it blurs my pores....love it.
I think this is one of the better drugstore primers i've ever tried. I feel like its similar to Porefessional by Benefit, but this product is clear and it feels a lot more oily when you apply it to the skin.

My ultimate makeup saviour! This is my go to product every single time I apply makeup. The tube is quite small so I do feel the price could be a little cheaper - although it is a very effective product. It removes shine, blurrs blemishes and pores and allows makeup to glide on effortlessly. Its the perfect primer!

I'm not sure if I am applying this the correct way, but I just can't seem to get good results like other people. With this primer my foundation always separates. Not sure if it's because I have quite oily skin? But all in all I do not like this primer and I prefer something with a less "silicone' feeling.

This is thee perfect primer! it is affordable and works just as well. I once forgot to apply my moisturizer when doing make up and went straight to the primer... To start off with, I've never really been one for primers but when the hype came in, I decided to grab myself one. the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant pore eraser has quickly become one of my staples. It comes in a gel-like consistency and when applying it to my problem areas, the effects feel somewhat instantaneous. I can immediately feel a difference.
It has also proved to be a more affordable option to its competitors so its a win-win :)

Well i've got mixed feelings about this amazing product. I have to say that it feels great on the skin and after you applied it your skin feels like silk, but....... I find that because of its almost oily creamy gel feeling it tends to make my foundation crease more and move a bit on my face. Which is a huge thumbs up for pores but a bit of a bummer for fine lines. As you can clearly see on my pics that it does make a huge difference with pores and fine lines. I'm going to try and apply it and give some time to settle before I apply my foundation and will update on if there is a difference or not. I also found (and fingers cross i;m going to test it a few more times to make 100% before I pack it away) that it give me a bit of a break out after using it for a week or two.
I will advice this for younger skin that just need that bit of porcelain touch, the feel of it on your skin is enough to make you want to use it again and again and again.
So in the general its a good product!

The Baby Skin Pore Eraser is a lifesaver if you have huge pores like me. My pores have always been a problem, as it makes it look as if I have holes in my face. If applied over moisturizer it leaves a great flawless finish. I do find however that the texture is a bit funny in my opinion and often feels drying which is why I have to wear moisturizer. Other than that, I could not fault it.

I'd read a lot of reviews about this primer not being as great as people expected it to be, but I was presently surprised at how effective it was! It's smooth, and lightweight & perfect for under and over makeup. If you're just getting into makeup, it's a perfect purchase. It's not oily at all, and my foundation lasted 2 hours longer than it usually does!

I would buy this product over and over, hands down. The soft velvety smooth feeling when this primer touches my face, is awesome! I was ever so happy when I saw this product in store. It gives my face a baby soft feeling after I apply it and a long lasting look to my makeup. My makeup stays on all day when using the primer. The negative is that this product is not for everyones skin type. I have dry skin so this works perfect for me.

When I say “Baby Skin”, you may never understand my excitement when I found out this “much raved’ about primer was hitting South African shores. In fact, I stalked my local Foschini until they had received stock, and then bought the first two primers I could get my hands on. Like any other blogger, I rushed home, admired the packaging for a few good minutes, and then went straight to testing out the primer.
I’m going to start off my review by talking about the packaging, because who doesn’t love a product with a pretty cool packaging? I loved the teal and turquoise packaging with the hot pink writing, it catches my attention as soon as I glance at the product. The packaging is quite sturdy, and I especially love the screw on cap, so there is no spillage if you’re travelling around. I do believe that overseas, the Baby Skin tube is packaged in a cardboard and plastic packaging, I would have really appreciated that in South Africa, so I know the product I’ve purchased hasn’t been tampered with in stores.
The Baby Skin tube labels this primer as an “instant pore eraser”, the tube also states that baby skin is a lightweight primer, for smooth, poreless looking skin and that the primer is only for adults. I was a little surprised, because this primer didn’t really state whether it was for any specific skin type, plus there isn’t much information available on the packaging about the product, but since everybody raved about this product, I really wanted to try it out.
After testing out the product on my hand, I was amazed, this primer felt velvety soft and smooth on the back of my hand, which made me even more excited to try it out. The first day I tried out the primer, I wore it with a full face of make up, I applied a pea sized about of primer to my moisturised face, and gave it a few minutes to settle in and then applied my make up, my make up applied like a dream, it looked flawless in the pictures, which got me really excited because I thought I found my Holy Grail primer, until a few hours after applying my skin looked really oily, like past trying to save with translucent powder oily. YIKES!
I tired to remain as calm as possible and be positive, maybe it was just too much make up for my primer to handle (said no woman ever), I tried it a few days later with just regular BB cream and some powder, but nope, still looking like I left the house with oil on my face. I was beginning to get disappointed because maybe this primer just wasn’t cut out for me. I have oily skin, well combination skin to be exact, and this primer made my skin look plain down too oily to deal with.
Don’t get me wrong, this primer is a really powerful primer, it leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, with a well moisturised feeling, it also blurrs imperfections on skin, making skin appear flawless and “smooth - looking”, plus it is a perfect canvas for make up, as make up glides on, but it is really NOT cut out for oily skin, I really tried to work around the primer, but I couldn’t. It just isn’t meant for combination/oily skin.
So would I recommend Maybelline Baby Skin? Yes I would, ONLY if you have dry skin, if you have combination or oily skin, I really wouldn’t recommend this primer because you’ll just be left with more of an oily look than you can really handle. The Maybelline Baby Skin retails for R89 and is available at Foschini, Dis-Chem and Clicks.

It has a very thick consistency that is clear. When applied to the skin, it does not erase the pores but rather reduces them by filling them in. It has a lovely silky texture when applied due to its silicon base. It comes in a tube as seen in the picture above and is R89,95 (I bought mine from Dischem) It is abit pricey especially when there are cheaper dupes on the market hence me being unimpressed (Dupe example: the Palladio Herbal Primer which is slightly cheaper and same texture)

I've used a primer before and it didn't work for my skin BUT this little product is awesome!
I love how soft and smooth it makes my skin! I use it alone and under my foundation.
It give my face a really natural and polished finish which I love! This is definitely a product I will buy again as it's become a part of my daily make up routine!

Everyone raved so about this primer that i had to go out and get one but honestly i am not too impressed, i find it to be too oily for me and it actually makes my makeup slip around a bit (probably cause of the oilyness) I think maybe better suited for people with dry skin that can handle the richness of it. The product feels good on skin and goes on silky and soft with a typical silicone primer feel. but then i find it settles quickly to a oily layer. Also i kind of expected the tube to be a bit bigger.The packaging is pretty tho and the price is good and im sure i will try using it again when my skin is dry and can deal with it

This was my go-to primer for about a year and I am SO happy that it is finally available locally. I love it for help filling in creases and fine lines on my face (works especially well on my forehead) but I don't notice it helping the longevity of my make-up. It works really well for the price but you may prefer to spend a bit more money on a primer which helps make-up last longer.

Using this product gave me EXTREME De Ja Vu to that time I bought a Primer from Woolworths - it was the EXACT same feel to it.
Baby Skin has a bit of a chemically smell but works exactly the same. (probably because its silicone based?)
It blends easily leaves a matte finish and provides the perfect base to apply your make up -

When I saw this on the shelf at my local Dischem, I snapped it up IMMEDIATELY. There has been so much international hype on this product that I had to see if it was as good as they said.
It is! It took me a while to figure out how much to use and how to use it with my current makeup products, but now that I have, I don't want to use any other primers! I find this one slowly pushing out my Smashbox one, which says it all, as that one retails for R400, and this one for around R80!
I've already recommended it to 3 friends, who went out and bought it, and are loving it just as much!

The Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is a silicon-based primer, super lightweight and feels great on the skin. This was the first primer I ever purchased and I used it religiously until I squeezed the tube dry. It's a great affordable solution to achieving smooth skin and is perfect to use under a BB cream or lightweight foundation. It still remains my go-to primer when travelling.
