The first time I highlighted my hair myself I used this kit. Loved everything about it.
So easy to mix and apply.
I ''stripped'' my dark brown hair with the blonde highlight and dyed it over with an auburn colour hair-dye to achieve the red I wanted at the time.
I was amazed at how professional looking my highlights turned out, months later people were still asking at which salon I got it done.
Comes with a cool little hair-dye brush and gloves that you can wash and re-use.
I used this product many years ago when my hair was shoulder length and it worked great for me.
What I remember is that you need to check your hair to see if it is the correct color otherwise you will get a not so nice color. :-) I learned that and always took an extra 5 minutes to get the best color, especially at the roots.
Always use good conditioners afterwards.
If you cannot afford a hairdresser and you have someone that can help you, this is a great product.
Just remember to take extra care of your hair afterwards.
Honestly this is the best highlighting kit on the market, I have pitch black hair and this product worked the first time around amazing this is a must buy if you dont want any fuss
I bought this product after salons quoted me too much to put highlights in my waist long hair. I also purchased the colour I wanted to use after the highlights and I was pleasantly surprised how quick this highlight kit worked on my black hair. The results were stunning without leaving my hair dry and strawlike. I spent R200 in total for the kit including additional hair colour compared to the salons quote of R750 to colour and highlight my hair.
I have been pondering over lightening my hair for some time now, and given my past experiences with going Blonde I was a bit scared. So after walking into my local clicks store, I found myself in the hair section, staring down at a Blonde highlighting kit.
I did not want to use the cap, I sort of wanted a free hand approach, so I opted for the refill kit as opposed to the full kit. Before going crazy on my whole head, I decided to do a peek a boo piece behind my left ear.
In mixed 1 part powder with 2 parts creme activator to create a nice smooth blue paste. I then proceeded to coat the full strand of my hair with the mixture. I then covered with foil to prevent it from mixing with my other hair.
My hair is dark brown in color, so I waited the maximum time (55mins - withe checking it periodically)before washing off.
I was super pleased with the result!!! My hair lightened up extremely well, Its like a dark blonde color - Nothing brassy or orange as I feared. I want it to be platinum blonde though so I will repeat the process in another 2 weeks or so.
After rinsing off, I treated the color section with my John Frieda Full Repair deep conditioner. I think this really helped as after styling, My peek a boo blonde piece was super soft, glossy, and healthy looking... A really good start!!
Once I become more brave I think ill definitely go more bold!
