My go-to product for hair highlighting. Works really well on my hair and leaves it with minimal damage. Lightens within seconds. However when I used it on a friends hair it didn't take to her hair very well even though she has never died her hair prior to the highlighter..
First used this product years ago because I didnt want to pay salons exhorbitant prices .. Pleasantly surprised, it took effect quite quickly , did no damage at all and gave beautiful blonde streaks . Quite affordable and application is really easy.
I was extremely skeptical about purchasing this product. I've never highlighted my hair at home due because I was always scared I would mess it up. The kit comes with the necessary application tools so it makes it much easier. It bleaches hair quite quickly so be mindful of time. My hair is quite dark and it took about 20 minutes to achieve the brown color I desired. Works well with Indian hair. Does not dry out hair either so that's another big plus.
I've used this kit to strip or add streaks to my hair for years. I use the refill kit, as I use foil to add it to my hair. If I use it to go blonde or have blonde highlights, I add gentian violet to my conditioner to get the brassiness out. I also treat blonde coloured hair with Hask's Blue Camomile Deep Conditioner every other week. This is definitely a home kit, so you won't get those ideal tones you would at the salon. If you are not prepared to tone and take care of your hair afterwards, this is rather not for you.
I have medium blonde hair, and I use the kair highlight kit every few months to add some colour. People always comment on how nice my hair colour looks! This highlight kit is very effective and lasts long, as I wash my hair everyday and it takes about 12 weeks before I need to redo the colour. It gives a professional look. I don't follow the recommended time on the box, as I keep it in for about 25 mins for that natural blonde look. It is however VERY drying on my hair, and wish that Kair would include a treatment or conditioner in the box for afterwards! I have to use a damage reconstruct conditioner because my ends get so dry!
Otherwise, for the quality and price I will keep using.
I use to use this 10 years ago when I was in high school to highlight my hair. The cap really works well just make sure you part your hair correctly before putting it one. I had a friend who was a redhead who tried it and hers went white really quickly so take note and really whatch your hair and the colour change.
