ABOUT THE LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION
• The internationally acclaimed London College of Fashion is the only UK college specializing in fashion education, research and consultancy. Its esteemed alumni include Jimmy Choo, Patrick Cox, Emma Hope, Linda Bennett (LK Bennett), William Tempest and Jacques Azagury amongst others. It is also the only college which has put issues of sustainability at the heart of what it does – setting up the Centre for Sustainable Fashion in 2008 to connect industry and education and find transforming solutions that balance ecology, society and culture. For further information on London College of Fashion please see its website, which is:http://www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/

ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
• The Body Shop and London College of Fashion launched a competition earlier this year – whereby students of the College could win the opportunity to design the packaging for the Limited Edition Trend 2011 Collection. Following a rigorous judging process (the panel being Ann Massal – International Brand and Innovation Director and Scott Corbett – Head of Creative Communications), the competition was won by Katarina Voloder a 21 year old German fashion illustration undergraduate.

• Her winning design is built around a make-up sketch of an eye, lips and make-up brush, giving the packaging a strong fashion-forward feel. This is combined with a starburst effect with splashes of colour to convey chic shades of the new collection. The whole limited–edition range, featuring integrated brushes, is branded with ‘University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion’ to clearly convey the joint partnership and make this make-up a must-have collectible.

KATARINA VOLODER

Katarina Voloder is a Fashion Illustration (BA Hons) undergraduate at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.Having won the joint The Body Shop and London College of Fashion student competition, Katarina’s artwork will grace the ‘Brush With Fashion’ make-up collection packaging. Although she is studying fashion illustration at London College of Fashion, Katarina is equally interested in fine art, art photography and graphic design, and this is reflected in her approach to illustration. She has also enjoyed working as a make-up artist on her photo shoots, and the concept of beauty is one she would like to explore and develop further in her work.
