5 Beauty Tips New Year, New You

Need beauty tips for the New Year? Find out how to create a new you with these DIY handy tips.

We are well into 2013 and while Jan-U-Worry (love this so much because everyone is so broke in Jan that all they do is worry – why does Jan seem to be the longest month of the year?) is nearly over it is never to late to brush up on your new year resolutions, so I found 5 easy beauty tips that I am implementing this year to a new me and a new you:

1.Lose weight: (Is this not every ladies resolution every year?) So I found this yummy filling smoothie recipe that I have tried many times and have enjoyed it a lot.
beauty tip 1

Ingredients
•    1 cup ice
•    1/2 cup frozen raspberries (found mixed berries at PnP)
•    1/2 cup plain low fat yogurt (tried it with berry yoghurt too YUM)
•    1 banana
•    1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
•    1 tablespoon honey

2.Detox water: I have seen a few ladies at the gym with this infusion in their water bottles and I think it is a brilliant idea because it gives your water a different flavour.

 beauty tip 2
Ingredients
•    1 Lemon/Lime
•    ½ to ¼ Cucumber
•    A few mint leaves (depending how strong you want the flavour)

3.Lotion: I think I make this resolution every year, to get into a routine where I cream my legs arm and heels so that I never have dry, flaky skin.
beauty tip 3

Ingredients
•    Bees Wax
•    Vitamin E Oil
•    Coconut Oil/Butter (My fav thing to have at home, so great for hair aswell #justsaying)

*The amount you need will depend on the container you are using to keep it in. All you need to do is grate the bees wax and coconut oil/butter to fill the container, place the jar/container (a glass jar is advised) into a pot on the stove with boiling water and let it all melt together -takes about 5 minutes. Then, just pour into a running blender filled with 1 cup of water. Let blend for about 1 minute, you can add the vitamin E oil and any essential oils you would like to.

4)    Scrub up those legs and keep them silky:
beauty tip4

Ingredients
•    2 1/2 Cups of Sugar
•    1 cup of Olive Oil
•    5 Tablespoons of Citrus Juice (Limes, Lemons, Oranges)

Soak your legs for about 5 minutes in your bath, shave one leg. Take a hand full of the scrub and use it on the leg you have just shaved and then rinse it off and shave the same leg AGAIN (When you shave your leg the first time, obviously, it’s going to remove the hair. When you scrub after you shave, it removes any dead skin. By shaving your leg again after you use the sugar scrub, you are getting all of that dead skin off of your leg).

5.Emergency Zit-Stop: This is just a really great tip for those ugly hard, sore acne break outs that make us ladies feel like a gremlin, which we should never feel like because we are GODDESSES
