Rimmel London Salon Pro with Lycra

I am not sure if it is just me but I can't seem to find a good quality nail polish that doesn't cost over R100.00 . That all changed when I tried the Rimmel London Salon Pro nail polish with Lycra.

Rimmel London released 38 different shades of nail polish in their Salon Pro with Lycra Nail Polish range. According to Rimmel, this range is supposed to provide you with, "up to 10 days chip resistant nail colour with gel shine finish!" Sounds great!

So I tried out the shade Navy Seal, which is shade number 411. It is a pastel navy blue shade. Actually, it is quite cool toned with some hints of grey in it. Anyways the consistency is extremely creamy. The nail polish comes with quite a large flat brush. I personally love this style of brush because I can cover my entire nail with one swipe. Okay well, the majority of my nails. To achieve an opaque finish, all you need is two layers.

Considering the fact that this is supposed to be a no chip nail polish, I decided not to use a top coat. When I first applied it, it was quite glossy but I noticed that it lost its shine throughout the week. It is now day 5 and my nails still look relatively good. There is a gap between my nail polish and nail bed and that is expected from my nail growth. There is also some chipping around the bottom and that is okay.

Overall, I am so happy with this product. I think the next time I use it I will use a top coat and I will be chip free!

I am in love with the colour Celebrity Bash (391) by Rimmel London in their Salon Pro range. It is a beautiful dark red for winter. I know it’s not winter yet but seeing as I do not have a proper red lipstick I decided to Red my Nails for April.

The actual nail polish has quite a thick and sticky consistency therefore you can get good coverage when applied with its chubby brush. Beware this is not a quick drying nail polish so make sure that you have plenty of time for each layer to dry. But once dry it has a great finish and stays put for the whole working week. Rimmel London claims the Salon Pro nail polish with Lycra will last up to 10 days, it is chip resistant and has anti-fade colour. I think this is a really good nail polish at an affordable price but unfortunately it does not last 10 days, it started to chip around day 6 and I noticed the colour start to lose it luxurious shine.

Though Salon Pro with Lycra nail polish does not live up to Rimmel London's hype it is a gem in its affordable price range and outshines other nail polishes in the same bracket.

PS If you want to scare yourself look up the ingredients - yep polyethylene is there along with a whole bunch of other nasty chemicals :(

I have only good things to say about this nail polish! From the extremely low price to the exceptional quality of the product, it's no wonder my Rimmel London Salon Pro collection continues to grow!

Cocktail Passion is a light pink/coral colour, a perfect summer shade which will suit any skin tone making you appear for tanned. Who wouldn't want that?

I mostly love the precision maxi brush because it makes application 200 times more easier than standard brushes. A holy grail product for me!
