I originally purchased a few of these foundation shades for my make up kit as an affordable option for my clients on a budget, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and started using it on my own face as a day to day foundation. I recently decided to purchase this product in the color natural beige after it was recommended to me by a friend. It offers a light to medium coverage, so I tend to apply a double layer or mix it with another brand that I also use. I've tried applying the foundation using a Beauty Blender as well as a foundation brush, I however did find it easier and smoother using a foundation brush instead. The color is an exact match for my skin tone, which is a definite plus, as I struggle to find this. I was a bit disappointed that the foundation lasted about 3-4 hours max (with a double layer), other than that its not bad at all and definitely affordable considering the added SPF 18.
So I decided to give this a try a few months ago, wanting to try something new and was pleasantly suprised by how well it blends whether applied with a foundation brush or makeup sponge. The coverage is buildable and offers light to medium coverage and lasts most of the day for me. I recently tried another brand of foundation but Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation is by far my new favourite and I will definitely be buying it again and again.
I love both the foundations from Rimmel but this has to be my favourite. It offers light to medium coverage that buildable. There is no transfer especially when used with a primer. The foundation is easy to blend whether you are using a foundation brush or a sponge. The shade Mocha matches my skin tone perfectly. My favourite!
I have recently made my first purchase on this product and I have to say I am absolutely in love with it. I have tried several foundations but haven't been fully happy with any of my purchases until I came across this one. It matches my skin tone perfectly as it has a blend in effect. Using a beauty blender works well for me although it might have a different affect on others. The price for this product is fairly reasonable considering that it is a foundation product and it is of high quality in my opinion. I would definitely recommend the Rimmel London Match Perfection SPF 18 foundation to anyone.
Yet again Rimmel hits it out the park with this packaging, so simple yet so effective.
What attracted me to this baby is the “Match Perfection” claim & you know how much i struggle to find the perfect shade right?. Yet again the pump bottle, which i love.
The formula is considerably weaker than the lasting finish foundation, so a beauty blender may not be the best tool , rather a good old foundation brush.The coverage is light to medium coverage that is build-able. So for pigmentation and uneven skin tone you may need a few layers to get the desired effect. But the colour match makes up for that because i tried a shade that was “normally” lighter than my normal shade (note- there isn’t much choice with regards to shades) but it matched somehow , witchcraft? no just great formulation. Its weightless coverage that blurs pores and just looks flawless!
It lasts around 4 hours which isn’t bad for light to medium coverage, although i do love longer wear. As mentioned above there isn’t much choice with regards to shades – 8 in total. Our perfect shade was “Deep Mocha” which is a bit of a stretch from my normal shade but it works for some reason.
Oh and did we mention and SPF of 18? YES that’s an added bonus!
This is the best drugstore foundation I have ever used. It applies so well with tools and fingers alike. Coverage can be built up so it is totally up to you to decide how much or how little you want. It dries matt but not flat and 1 dimensional. In additional the colour range is great and it caters for all skin tones. I actually think it is better than my Clinique Even Better foundation! Love it!
I have to confess I am mad about Rimmel is Bronze. It's the only foundation I have found that matches my skin colour perfectly, provides excellent coverage, no shiny skin and skin protection for 24 hours. The price is also just right.
My foundation usually lasts about 2 to 3 months and I think it is very good value. The added spf factor makes it even more of a good buy.
Been using Rimmel for a few years now and do not think I will ever want to try another foundation. I mean I love the colourstay properties, no primer really required and my skin looks great the whole day.
This foundation was definitely a great buy , blends very easily and has great coverage . I noticed that if I require a heavier coverage on certain days I can just add another layer and my face still does not look like I have plastered it on .
The only downside for me is that the bottle has a very big opening and sometimes you can end up wasting a lot of the product by accident .
Having said that , i would still buy it because it works really well on my skin tone and gives me a perfect matte finish whilst keeping my skin feeling as natural as possible because its so light weight .
Natural beige 400 is my summer formulation.its light and fresh feeling yet buildable to a medium coverage....... Wish it was in a pump formulation so theres less wastage. It has a built in primer that leaves your skin natural looking and flawless. I use mine with the pressedpowder in the same range to enhance its longevity as my skin dissolves makeup by early afternoon. The colour palette in this range is perfect for women of colour. Perfect for summer and young skins
The Rimmel Foundation is an affordable must have for any make up lover. It's not only affordable but light on the skin, it's packs a punch when it comes to coverage, from the first pimp you will get medium coverage. It is buildable for those individuals who might prefer full coverage without making you face cacky. It dries to a matte finish without drying out the skin which is a plus for women with oily skin.
The range of colours aren't great but if you do get the colour that matches your skin tone at R149 you will be getting value for money with this foundation.
The foundation does not have a pump which makes it very messy to use but that not much of a problem for me I would purchase it again.
The added advantage for this foundation is its SPF 18.

On the first application this foundation applies sheer. On the second pump skin seems to have a medium coverage. I guess the fact its sheer supports the purpose of the Rimmel Protect Fix and Protect SPF 20 makeup primer with its shimmery formula. While it is super moisturizing, it dries to a matte finish. This is great as slick, oily skin will be kept in check. I love the price and the fact that it also packs an SPF of 18.
