There are many ways used to eliminate facial hair. I can not tolerate pain and hate using wax, so trying it on my face was a definite No-No!My mum though loves using wax and always trusts her Mandy's Facial Wax Strips.
These are thin paper/plastic strips with wax which is used to pull hair out from the root. This method of hair removal offers longer lasting results and can be done in the comfort of your own home. Its ideal for people who suffer from excessive hair growth in un-wanted areas.
The strips are easy to use and come in small individual strips. They can be cut inti smaller pieces for hard to reach or teeny spaces. The strips are clear, with a feel similiar to wax paper and has a green Mandy's logo printed on. The yellow wax can be seen.Before use, the strip being used needs to be activated; this is done by gently warming the strip between your hands or rubbing over vigourously with your finger. Once heated, it can be applied to the desired area.
The wax goes on relativley well and does the job perfectly. It didn't irritate my mums skin or leave any un-sightly damage; like tearing or bruising. Proper knowledge on how to apply the strips and removal also help in making the process pleasant and ensuring the best results. Instructions do come with the kit, these were well written and illustrated to ensure their customers are fully aware on how the product works and how to use it.
If you're a newbie to the waxing scene, here are some tips to ensure the process goes smoothly-
1. always do a sensitivity test, even if you have used the product before. Our skin is always changing and you could also have purchased a bad batch of product.
2. this may seem odd but moisturize your skin several minutes before you wax. Dry skin prevents wax from attaching to hairs.
3. Keep skin taut whilst waxing by either pulling your lower or upper lip over your teeth, or pulling your skin tight with your fingers.
4. If yourskin gets swollen and sore after using the strips, you need to relieve the swelling and close the pores as soon as possible. Grab some ice cubes and apply gently to the inflammed area. Pat dry then apply a cooling aloe vera gel or anti-septic cream.
