Essence Soft Tough Mousse

One of the most underrated make up brands and this needs to change, I use this very shade to contour my face. Its soft and easy on the skin, very light weight. Definitely value for money. Full coverage if you opt to use it on your face I use it on my clients as well. Highly recommend this product ! If they had a campaign I'd without a doubt opt in. Product available at your local drug stores.

I have tried alot of foundation and struggle with oily combination skin but this one is one of the top 10 that I have tried....it stays matte all day with no need to keep applying powder or dabbing ....it's just wonderful for that affordable price .

I love this foundation for everyday wear! It's not heavy and let's my skin look like skin. Ideal for the work day when you want your skin to breathe, but also add a little medium coverage foundation to look more put together.

This soft textured mousse works perfectly on my dry/combination skin and is longwearing without having to set is with a powder. Contains no SPF so if perfect for photoshoots and the coverage is great. A little goes a ling way. Best application for my personal use is with a foundation buffing brush. I am very fair skinned and the lightest shade match me 100%

It's very easy to apply and it blends very nicely with the concealer, I wear it almost every weekend

The product for the price is definitely something for someone who is just introducing themselves to foundation. I have to admit it does not last a long time so it is not advisable to use on a humid day to a special event as it will melt of in the car. However, whenever I need to leave the house for a few hours and don't want to conceal and do the whole make routine (my skin is really pigmented), I reach for this mousse. Application is almost fool proof but it goes on looking natural on me when I use a Real Techniques brush.

This mousse is amazing , it doesn’t make you oily at all and I have eczema but it doesn’t dry out my skin any further, makes my face feel amazing.

I have bought this product multiple times and I absolutely love it , leaves my skin looking flawless . I would recommend this product , but on different people it has different effects . Different strokes for different folks . Definitely worth the buy and worth trying out.

I have never tried a mouse concealer so I was intrigued and excited with the Essence range but it left much to be desired. I have very dry skin under My eyes and this product was not hydrating at all. I also found that it applied quite cakey. However, with that being said applying it to oily skin seemed to work perfectly, the mouse absorbs any facial oils and leaves a flawless finish on the skin. It is not very breathable but it is high coverage so it's perfect for photoshoots but not so great for a day to day product.

I bought this Concealer and absolutely loved it at first. But after a few uses this product just dried out. I'm very disappointed as now I have a whole tub which I won't be able to use again.

I found this product to be very drying on my skin, and although the consistency in the bottle was very soft and fluffy, on my skin it would clump up and very quickly become powdery. Also the colour is deceptively light. Maybe it's just my user error but I am not happy with this product and won't be buying it again.

This product has such light coverage that I used to use it as a concealer on top of my actual foundation. I didn't find that it performed well enough for me to actually use it as a foundation. It does dry out slightly and you might end up with a few clumps, but it still retains its fluffy nature.
This product transfers very easily (try to avoid any hugs if you use it).
I didn't finish my bottle of this and probably won't buy it again.

This product applies easy and coverage is good. Only negative is that it doesn't last the whole day and it transfers easily too.

Maybe it work better with another skin type but it is not working so good for me.

Would still recommend the product. Good option because it is not so expensive.

Essence Soft Touch Mousse Make-up. It is INCREDIBLE. Honestly!!!

Have oily skin? Then this product might be the best option for you, if you seeking light feather coverage and without being greasy or oily.

Because I have a light skin tone, I bought me the 01 Matt sand.

It comes in a cute, round little tub, that kind of looks like a jar. The lid is skin color, with the Essence writing on it. It’s very compact and easy to handle. Inside, is the matt foundation, it looks kind of like chocolate. Haha!!

The texture of the foundation, is soft, fluffy and extremely light. When you dip your finger in, you can already feel the powdery texture, with a mixture of cream inside it.

When I tried it, I took my finger, dipped it inside and kind of blotched it all around my face, I then spread it with a foundation brush, and blended it with a blending foundation brush. But the blending made it look streaky, so I dabbed it with my sponge all around. It gives the perfect smooth and natural looking Matt finish while allowing your skin to breath freely.

For me it gave a nice coverage because I don’t have much pimples, but I do have alot of marks and this covers it so well. When I have it on, it literally feels like I’m wearing nothing, like I have a bare face because it’s so weightless and super soft!

If you have a dry skin, it’s definitely not for you. Also don’t put too much on, because it can get very cakey.

Overall, I would definitely recommend it if you are a beginner with oily or even combination skin. The price is just right. I’d say this is definitely something you need to check out.

I love the coverage of this and how it does'nt get soaked into the skin. Although it doesn't have a long lasting effect, I enjoy using this for an average day or a night out.

I do like the essence soft touch mousse, its easy to apply and coverage is good. the only think I don't like about it, is that is it very messy.

The version of this foundation with the anti-spot benefits is basically the same. It is a lovely foundation and one I most often reach for. The consistency is very smooth and thick, but it does not look cakey when the right amount is applied. Once on the skin, it dries to a powdery finish, but not at all flat. I would even say that someone with dry skin would like this, as I have found that this is the only foundation that looks nice over my scars and break outs. The coverage is medium, but buildable. As for lasting power, I get a solid 6-7 hours out of it before it starts to fade and when it actually does fade, it goes evenly and not at all very noticeable. Overall, a great product with a price that can't be beaten. Btw...It does not break me out and I have super sensitive and acne prone skin.

The texture of this product is great! It is amazingly soft and it most definitely is a mousse. I liked the packaging too. I found that this product dries to a slight powder, obviously creating a matte-effect. It made my skin look and feel very dry- something that I don't quite like. Perhaps it works with other skin-types, but not for mine. However, I do not believe that this is a rip off as you are paying under R100.

I am absolutely in love with the texture of this product. Super smooth and velvet texture on your skin. It is quite easy to blend and has good coverage throughout the day. I'm just not a big fan of the container as it was hard to get equal consistency of product onto my brush. However for the price and the quality of product, I give it a thumbs up.

I love this Essence Mousse because I love trade size makeup, I take it out with me & I touch up my makeup with it all the time. Instead of having to take a brush and a powder etc etc - its one small little tub with easy open lid and it stays on quite long - it wasn't as effective as I was hoping, but to be fair, it cost so little I didn't feel there was space to complain!
R70 at Clicks and it lasts me over a month, which isn't bad. It does have a lot of coverage so a little goes a long way with this Mousse :)
