The Body Shop is well known for their scrubs, shower gels and general bath and body products. I’ve been a fan of their shower gels for years. Earth Lovers is quiet a new range from TBS that currently hosts a range of shower gels. It comes in an array of scents from Mint & Cucumber, Watermelon & Eucalyptus, Fig & Rosemary, Pear & Lemongrass, Apricot & Basil and Fragrance-Free. I am not particularly crazy about all of the scents. With their other shower gels I agonise for up to half an hour in the store trying to decide which scent to purchase because they are all so wonderful. With this range I only like the Apricot and Basil scented one but I really like that they have a fragrance free one for when you are going to be applying perfumes or scented creams and you don't want fragrances fighting with each other. I don't think the fragrance free one will be very popular because people buy soaps with their noses and like the experience of using a beautifully scented soap.

As a product, they wear similar to the Body Shop’s other shower gels, in that they create a generous amount of foam when used with a TBS loofa, it leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. The main difference however is that the remaining scent does not linger as long as the original shower gels, which is actually something I like, but is not great for those women who love the scent to linger.

From an environmental stand point, this is the smarter choice and those who like to do their bit for the environment will go out in droves to purchase this. But TBS is already so environmentally conscious with their products that I don't think there is anything wrong with purchasing their usual shower gels or other products. I think if this range adopted the usual favourite scents it will have a great shelf life, at the moment I am not entirely convinced that this will be around for years to come.

If you love the Body Shop’s traditional shower gels, you shouldn't be disappointed by this range. It is pretty much the same usage wise and provide you with the same moisturised and clean feeling after use.

Currently selling at R75 for a 250ml bottle which is R10 more per bottle than the traditional shower gel range.
