Lit and light . . . MAC Cream Colour Base

Lit and light . . . MAC Cream Colour Base

Sugar and spice and all things nice is a great way to describe how I feel about

MAC Cream Colour Bases.

These magic wonders have been on the market for a long time and are a bit under-rated in my opinion. MAC has some superb shades in the range.

The shades are:

Luna (Bright white with shimmer)

Pearl (pale gold with icy shimmer)

Hush (soft peach with an icy shimmer)

Shell (Soft pink beige with a shimmer)

While I’m featuring a LE edition shade, don’t feel short-changed. It is my favourite, slightly ahead of Hush, which, is just a bit deeper in colour.

This cream-based highlighter can be used all over the face and body. I prefer using it just on my face.

The Diamonds  (LE) Cream Colour I’ve featured is champagne, soft gold shade, which lends itself to lend itself to all skin tones nicely.

Most colour cream bases have teeny tiny shimmer particles and do not look OTT for day wear nor does it have a gritty texture with chunks of sparkles that can scratch and irritate your skin.

For those with oily to oily-combination or acne prone skin, note that has a high emollient content so you could end up looking like a grease ball or break out. However, this is a general guideline for most cream-based products and because you use so little product, you’re unlikely to experience a problem.

Because it’s so creamy, it does go on wet but dries to sheen.

To apply, dot a tiny amount on top of your cheekbones and pat until it melts into your skin, seamlessly. You can set with a light dusting of powder, translucent preferably.

This is not a longwearing formula especially if you do have skin on the oilier side, so expect a wear time of about 6 hours.

Surprisingly, in my experience, it didn’t settle into my pores and make them appear larger, which some cream products do.

This is a great product to introduce you to cream highlighters, especially if you want a dewy glow, with a subtle sheen.

Where to buy: MAC FSS, MAC counters at Edgars.
