Importance of Primers

Importance of Primers

Primers are a big help when it comes to the application of foundation and giving your skin an even, refined look. Primers can be worn alone or under foundation to create a canvas so that your foundation glides on more evenly and smoothly. It is applied after your moisturiser. It also helps to prevent make-up from settling in and accentuating your pores. There are a few types of primers, I'm going to share three with you.

The first one is an eye primer and brightener, this is a big help when it comes to covering tired eyes and dark circles. It brightens the appearance of your eyes by using light diffusing particles and also helps reduce the look of fine lines.

Next is the 'ordinary' perfecting primer. Like the eye primer, it has light diffusing particles and reduces the look of fine lines, it can be worn alone or under your foundation. My favourite benefit of a primer is that it refines the look of your pores and evens out skin texture.

My absolute best is the Colour Correcting primer, not only does it have all of the benefits of the 'ordinary' primer,  this baby has colour correcting pigments that neutralize redness and uneven skin tone.

I like the Revlon primers as they are oil, talc, paraben and fragrance free which is just wonderful for my super sensitive skin. The Elizabeth Arden primer is also fabulous if you want to spoil yourself.
