Avon Ultra Lip CrayonReddy for Me, Carefree Coral and Fresh FuchsiaOn Application:The Avon lip crayon definately meets its "2-in-1" purpose of easy 'lip liner' for the out lining of the lips and then 'full on lipstick' application for filling the entire lip there after.I am however a bit concerned on how it will hold its pointy-tip shape after numerous applications?Moisturising properties:Upon application the immediate feel of the lip crayon is not as liquid as lip gloss nor is it as dry as some lipsticks, its some where in between. This being said, it simply means it does not glide on like a gloss nor does it feel as dry as a lipstick.The lip crayon does not seem to have much moisture on the lips. The effect you get is more of a dry feeling after a while which is surprising because the visual appearance looks shiny with like a gloss finish - and for the fact that it contains shea butter.Perhaps more actual moisturising properties would be more beneficial to the care of the lips. A lip balm underneath (before application) however does give back that extra care. It would be so cool if the lip crayon kept your lips colourful and moisturised at the same time :)Visual appearance:These lip colours are bold and bright, definitely makes a statement. It will be great to wear on those special occasions or crazy nights out when you need just that pop of colour to complete your look. It is also very appealing to youngsters who are going for the "out there colourful funk" - colour keeping up with the trend of being bold and daring.This is not the type of colour that you would wear on an everyday basis to the office or work.Colour stay:The colour is bold and bright on application but eventually fades over time. It does not sink into the lips and dries up, it easily wipes onto material such as clothing if touched. This makes it harder to wear comfortably because you constantly have to avoid contact of your lips with your clothing or other materials.Packaging:I think the packaging of this product is flawless. Looks very presentable when you take into consideration the price that you are paying.Personal opinion and Overall rating:I don't think the lip crayon is to bad for its price but I do think with a bit of extra attention to those properties listed that it lacks it could be a very popular product for Avon. I would give this product a 6 out of 10 star rating because even though it does require some work I don't think it entirely lacks the purpose it was made for and that Avon was trying to achieve with it. I think the price is very affordable when compared to the well-known Clinique chubby stick.
I have to be brutally honest and say that I am not happy with the Avon lip crayons - I have dry lips and these crayons are not suitable for them.On application they feel too dry and it does not apply smoothly like lipstick and true to the name it feels like you literally have to colour in your lips to get a good shade of the colour.
I was sent 3 colors: Fresh Fuschia, Ready for me and Mauve Model- like the colors but don't like the fact that they all have glitter in it which means these crayons are only for a night time look.
