I will start off by saying that I went off nailpolish about two years ago. Chipped nail polish is one of my absolute pet hates and I cant stand looking down at my hands and seeing a chipped and cracked manicure. I tried a lot of so-called salon brands like OPI and Essie as well as Maybelline, Revlon, Rimmel, L'Oreal and Yves Saint Laurent and it all chipped whithin two days or so.

So, I would only use a calcium strengthening gel and maybe a clear coat on top for some shine. A colleague gave me this Avon polish because she didnt like the colour, which was a pinky fleshy shade.

So, this is the part where I start to rave about it. I gave myself a nice long manicure and applied the Avon polish. Seven (!!) days later it had not chipped! It did looked a bit shabby, a bit faded and quite dull but no chips!

The consistency is fairly thick but it's easy to apply thanks to a nice long and firm brush. The finish is a standard creamy - no shimmer or frosty finish or any other kind of light effects.

I think I used a Nailene top coat over it and I reapplied the top coat every two days.

This polish costs around R80 and I would definately recommend it. One gripe is that it only comes in about 8 shades and none are particularly fashionable or cutting edge. I think there is a light pink, a flesh colour, a red, a burgundy, etc. Quite standard, boring colours but if you aren't looking to make a fashion statement and just want something that will look professional and neat for work and will stay put the whole week - this polish is it!
