A very masculine red bottle with flip-lid. The front and back has writing in both red and white. The formula is a tad harsh on females but is definitely worth the little tingling.

This is the No1 German brand for hair loss in men. As I suffer from drastic hair fall and thinning, I gave this shampoo a try. It is recommended you consult with your dermatologist first before use as it contains a highly concentrated amount of caffeine.; which stops the testosterone build-up to the hair shaft. This might not be beneficial to some females, especially pregnant women.
The caffeine-containing ingredient of Alpecin protects the hair roots against the ttack caused by testosterone. This helps prolong the growth phase of hair, which means that hair growth is possible well into old age.
When applied, the shampoo causes a fresh tingling on the scalp, its active ingredient; caffeine, travels along the hair sheath and forms a depot sufficient for up to 24 hours. As it is very strong and harsh for female hair I only use this shampoo twice a month.

:enhances the speed of hair growth
Due to the caffeine traveling straight to the root;though its of a high dosage, the body, hair and scalp are not affected.
The shampoo is fast-acting and should be rinsed off immediately after lathering is complete. The bottle is easy to open and the colour is bright. The shape is very industrial, great for a men's shampoo as pretty isn't really their forte. The smell is also very unusual and masculine. It's advised that a conditioner ot be used, so I normally use it around mid-week and let my hair air-dry.
On application, it lathers well and looks almost like a faint red/pink colour. My hair feels squeky clean after rinsing but it is harsh and so my hair is left feeling a bit rough and course. Even with that slightly un-pleasant feel, my hair feels fresh, clean, invigorated and stronger.
