  • Keep your hands hydrated with richly moisturising hand lotions containing ingredients like shea butter, macadamia nut oil, Vitamin E, Olive Oil and glycerine. Nivea and Eucerin have good ones.
  • Use the serum that you use on your face on the backs of your hands too. If you have some residue left over after you have done your face, use that on your hands to avoid wastage.
  • Always use sunscreen on your hands. This is essential to prevent further damage to the skin from the sun’s harsh rays. The sun is the main culprit when it comes to liver spots.
  • Use gentle, fragrance-free hand soaps and always apply lotion after washing your hands.Vaseline
  • Wear gloves whenever you wash dishes, work in your garden or clean with harsh detergents.
  • Exfoliate with a mild scrub at least twice a week.
  • By far my favourite solution to dry hands (and a real cheapie) is to apply Vaseline to your hands before bed-time and cover with cotton gloves or socks. In the morning your hands will be soft and smooth like never before.
  • If you suffer from horrid age spots on your hands, there are some home beauty remedies that you can try before opting for expensive salon treatments:
  • Lemon juice – apply to freckles and age spots for 15 minutes a day for up to 6 weeks
  • Raw potato – rub on affected areas to treat age marks and liver spots.
  • So what are your handy anti-aging secrets?
