Another eco-friendy proudly south african brand made from natural essential oils like marula, african potato, rooibos and aloe vera. A deeply moisturising body butter that doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky and is soft enough to spread easily. What I can’t stand though is the scent thing elizabeth arden 8 hour cream and it’s very strong and does not fade which really does overpower your perfume but otherwise great body butter if you can stand the smell.
Something that smells this bad must be good. To be fair this body butter has a lovely rich creamy texture that is easily absorbed by the skin. However, you are left with that lingering smell. Maybe it's the African potato, I don't know, all I know to me it smells nasty. So much so I have banished it to my feet. After all my heels need as much help as they can get. It makes my feet all nice and soft for a few hours but it's no miracle cure. As with most reviewers I received the Africology body butter in a Rubybox and I will not be buying more when I'm done with my deluxe-size sample.
I received this in a Rubybox a few months ago and I have been using it sparingly because I am still on the fence about it. The texture and consistency is everything that a good body butter should have, but I am not that crazy about the smell. It combats dry skin but it can be on the oily side if too much is applied. The thickness of the cream makes that it goes a long way but it can be difficult to apply if one is in a rush.
This body butter is clearly of high quality. It is rich and thick and creamy and absorbs into your skin nicely. I am all for natural products too and love that it's proudly South African too. One thing that would make it the best product though is if the smell was just a little less earthy. Not a huge fan of that.
