Trendy Hairstyles

In 2013, you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to hairstyles. So many new techniques and styles, as well as old trends, are making a comeback!

I love the Pixie Cut! It is still a very much in style. Michelle Williams pulls it off brilliantly. The cut accentuates her features and a short fringe will ensure that your eyes get all the attention.

The Short Bob is a very popular look. You can go for the sleek bob, the tousled look, a fringed bob, or for that special event, you can add waves for the very trendy flapper bob.

The Bob Alternative in 2013 is shoulder length hair. The style of the bob, with some extra length, will give you the feel of a bob, without committing to such a short style.

Braids are still big in 2013. Who knew that the braid can be so versatile? You can go for a braided up do, an inverted braid, a Dutch braid, a crown braid, a french braid… phew! The list seems endless. A quick and easy way to use this trend is by incorporating a small braid as an accent in your up do. Another beautiful look is a bun made up of multi-sized braids.

The Wet Look has featured on the runways quite a bit and I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of it. This look will suit any hair length and there are numerous ways of using this look – half wet/half dry, the wet braid, the slicked back pony, etc. What do you think of this look?

The Low Ponytail has really made a comeback! This reminds me of my high school days. But don’t just tie your hair – take your low pony to the side or wrap a part of the ponytail around the base and then secure it with a bobby pin. Or how about a bit of elegance with the French Twist Ponytail?

Punk is in! Anything and everything goes. If you want an edgier look, you can go for varying lengths, asymmetrical lines, colours… the more dramatic the better.
