One of the many things that I have learnt, being part of the Beauty Bulletin community, is that my knowledge of fragrances is very limited! You see, as mentioned before, in my Katy Perry Review, I am not one for celebrity fragrances. So much so, that I wasn't even aware of this little beaut. You will never find me strolling around the perfume section simply because I am too scared that I find something "to-die-for" and then literally die after seeing the price. Please, someone explain to me: "why on earth, do we have to pay so much, to smell pretty?" Lucky me though, through my shoot-share-and-win entry, I won a 50ml Taylor by Taylor Swift perfume, along with a stunning Oh So Heavenly pamper kit. It is rather funny how when I pulled the box from the envelope, my husband said, "I doubt it will be as good as the Killer Queen fragrance." Oh, but did he eat his words. The bottle is a elegant and feminine design; a clear glass bottle with its attractive shape complimented by the youthful rainbow design, on the top, before reaching the stopper which is a stunning ball, giving you the impression of crystals and diamonds - "a girl's best friend" and finally, just like any classy woman the full design is completed by a stunning string of pearls, around the bottle's neck. In my mind, this design is the perfect example of modern meets retro! This is just the beginning though. The fragrance is a combination of sweet fruits and florals, allowing you to indulge in nature's treats. Its top notes open with tempting aromas of lychee, tangerine and magnolia petals. At the heart you will find, some of Taylor's favourite flowers; peony, hydrangea and the stunning vanilla orchard. And finally at the base that holds it all together is a combination of sandal wood, apricot nectar, cashmere musk and soft woods. This tantalizing affair is a light and sweet fragrance, perfect for daily use and especially suited for the spring and summer time with its alluring, innocent charm. I feel that I have cheated on my first love, by falling head-over-heels for this fragrance but as my husband has assured me, who can blame me?
M
