Spring & Summer Makeup Trends

Spring has sprung and we’re almost in to the Summer months. Long, balmy days and sweltering nights and a girl’s got to looks good! Let’s take a look at some of the wearable Spring/Summer makeup trends

Spring Summer Makeup Trends 1Darker lips as seen at Donna Karan.

This may seem to be a surprising look for Spring/Summer. It’s a continuation of the mulberry mouths we saw during the F/W collections, this look being paired with matte, bronzed, slightly contoured skin and a fuller eyebrow.

Try it:

Perfect skin with foundation and concealer and set with translucent powder. Don’t forget about the eyes! This look uses little to no shadow.
Keep eyes looking “naked” and contour slightly with bronzer.
Add a lick of waterproof mascara or skip it altogether.
Use bronzer to warm up the complexion remembering to do the neck as well.
Fill in the bows with an ashy brown shadow. Use this same shadow to lightly contour beneath the cheekbones.
Use a warm brown lip pencil to prefect the shape of the lips and fill in with brown lipstick in a demi-matte texture.
Done!

Stained lips as seen at Erdem

How gorgeous is this look?! Soft, feminine and ultra sexy. Simple and refined. It’s dewy, healthy skin that’s lightly powdered with red, stained lips.

Try it:
Use a tinted moisturiser or a sheer foundation. Conceal beneath the eyes. If your skin has blemishes, cover with concealer that matches your skin tone.
Lightly powder on the T-Zone and over any concealed areas.
Leave the eyes “naked”.
Add 2 light coats of your best volumizing mascara to the top lashes and a smidgen to the bottom lashes.
Lightly brush the brows with some tinted brow gel.

Apply a red of your choice to your ring finger and dab it on your lips. You can choose to keep it a very light stain or build it up to a bolder one.
Done!
