Ooohhh La La… big bouncy curls here I come. I’ve always loved the look of having rich, curled locks or the loose easy mermaid waves but found it hard to achieve, until I got my Salton curling tong.

This curler and its packaging are just too adorable. The box is slim and narrow, making it easy to store and fit in the tiniest of crevices. The box is black and baby blue. On the front is a photo of the curling tong in its actual size. One side has 3 photos of its key features-

1. The swivel cord and hanging loop
2. The power on indicator light
3. And the built-in stand and spring grip.

The back of the box gives more information on the above 3 features. The front has the word CURLS written in baby blue, this gives it a very fresh, youthful and funky look. The tong creates natural, bouncy curls. The tong itself is very versatile, slim line and cute; it will easily brighten up any vanity with its blue handle and convenient design. The curling barrel is grey ceramic. A black plastic cooling tip is present to hold onto, to achieve tighter more precise curls. It is also heat resistant which means no more burnt finger tips.

The curler heats up quick and evenly to 160oC. It’s super easy to use and depending on the curl you’re going for works wonders in creating multiple looks. I chose not to use the barrel clasp as I don’t like the “dent” in-print it leaves behind. I roll the length of my hair around the entire barrel and hold in place. For a loose wavy look I normally hold the hair to a count of between 10-15 seconds and for a tight curl between 20-5 seconds. For a full head of luscious curls, start with the bottom layer of hair and work upwards in equal layers. For all day staying power, spritz each completed layer with a medium hold hair spray.

The curler is relatively inexpensive but don’t let that hamper your intent on purchasing it. It packs a punch; I am able to achieve multiple looks and styles from this ONE convenient hair styler. If you’re looking for an affordable, easy-to-use and easy on the eye looking curler I would highly recommend this this one from Salton.
