Protex Oats Antigerm soap is by far my favourite soap bar on the market. This was my go to product when I was still a student, scrounging every scent I had. It was a little more expensive than most soap bars, but less expensive than a body wash.

As I have mentioned before I have a relatively dry and sensitive skin, so most of the other soap bars that I used either irritated my skin or left me feeling dry and itchy. The Dove soap bars comes in second, but they do not offer antibacterial protection (well, not that I have seen).

When I finally came across this product it was love at first wash. Its lathers pretty well, smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling soft, clean and fresh. The added oats definitely nourishes and moisturises your skin. Not once did my skin feel tight or itchy after using the product – even in the dry winter months (although I did use creams for added moisture). As for the antibacterial properties, I have noticed that when I perspired my skin stayed fresher for longer.

Now that I can afford some of the more expensive body washes I still keep a bar in the home; in case I run out of body wash or liquid hand soap. I also prefer to use this product on those days when I need some added antibacterial protection, such as gym days or after paintball matches.

This bar is also perfect as a hand wash product, simply because it provides antibacterial protection and is gentle on the skin. For germ freaks like me this comes in handy when you wash your hands thousands of times a day, as it is not always possible to apply hand moisturiser after every wash.
