We just loved the Olympics, the incredible moments, the wins, the emotions and especially the fashions, beauty and hair tips! There have been some big beauty and hair moments in the game too and here are the top trends we thought were worthy of a gold medal..
Flying through the air with the greatest of ease, we were transfixed by the grace and glam of the gymnasts’ sky-high flips, fancy foot work we just loved their hair do’s!
A hot trend amongst the ladies of the Olympics loved the very on trend ‘Bun’ look ala Kim Kardashian! The tight pulled back bun was the hit of Olympics 2012 because of its effortlessly glam look plus it’s perfection for performance- glam AND good for gold!
Messy up do’s ala the red carpet were also a hot trend of the games- the gals from Russia and the Far East were big fans of this look. Half messy half sleek do’s were the order of the day!
Hair bling: Sparkle was the order of the day-especially amongst the Russian gymnastics gals! Hair clips laden with glitter and sparkles decorated their slicked-back ponytails! Hair clips in bright colours also featured heavily!
With every Olympics comes gallons of hairspray and the ladies of the 2012 games took a whole new take on the look- glitter spray! Gals kept their do’s simple but added some sparkle with glitter hairspray!
A HUGE trend at the Olympics was patriotic nails! Minx nails set up in the Olympic village and it resulted in fierce and fabulous nail art. The swimming ladies couldn’t don makeup or any glam hair do’s so how did they keep it fab at the games? Their nails! The water babes rocked serious designs on their digits to keep things go girly. The British swimmers donned Union Jack nails, the American girls were rocking the American flag on their talons and swimmers from France and Germany donned intricate, patriotic nail art too! With sport comes sweat and shine- not the best palette for makeup but the gals of the games did their best to look gorgeous while competing! Hot makeup trends of the Olympics were reminiscent of hot Hollywood trends.
The games saw a lot of smoky, metallic eye makeup- especially from the Gymnastic girls who were by far the most made up of the games. For those who didn’t do smoky peepers, kept it sparkly with shimmery shadows for a pretty but simpler look.
