Don’t you just love a really good cosmetic implement ? A genius pair of tweezers, or the perfect brush…  I’m as much a sucker for a good grooming accessory as I am for a good cosmetic product, and I was delighted to find this funky range of cosmetic accessories and tools, exclusive to selected Truworths beauty departments.

My Cosmetics is aimed at the sophisticated, modern woman who wants the best quality accessories and believes she deserves them !  The range is divided into 5 categories: My Face, My Hands, My Feet, My Accessories and My Bags. A range of over 30 products, in white and stainless steel, these little lovelies will revolutionize your grooming routine.

My personal favourites ? Hard to choose…

The nylon gloves are my best product ever for body exfoliation – none of that messy scrub which all goes down the drain ! These gloves are super-easy to use in the bath or shower and will get your skin smooth and glowing in no time – all you need is a bit of soap or body wash and a good rubdown, and you’re prepped for the perfect self-tan, or a good moisturiser. A snip at R35, I keep a set in the bathroom and another in my travel bag for exfoliating in foreign climes (hopefully !) or on business trips.

I love the nail scissors at R49.95 and cuticle nippers at R99.95, and the Foot File at R59.95, which comes with extra grit pads which can be replaced when the originals wear down  – all essentials for a professional-looking manicure and pedicure.

Clever travel accessories also get my vote – the toothbrush holder (R35)keeps your brush in good condition and prevents that rest of your toiletries getting damp in transit, and the Travel Kit, with 3 bottles and 2 small jars for decanting your products (R59.95) is fabulous. It comes with a spatula and dropper, and a ziplock purse for small items like safety pins and cotton buds, which tend to get lost in vanity bags.

And while on the subject of bags…I absolutely adore the large black and white polka-dot organiser, trimmed in pink patent, which has a multitude of pockets and smaller bags to house all your goodies for travel (R180).  I don’t travel light, and this bag holds all my stuff, and keeps it all separate – no mean feat when you’ve seen my arsenal of products ! My husband mutters and groans…and promptly adds all his stuff too ! It’s a limited edition, so get one now before they’re all gone.  If you miss the polka-dots, there’s also a lovely set of 3-in-1 clear PVC bags with pink or black trim at R149.

Multi-sponge packs and a great basic cosmetic brush set round out the range, along with press-on French manicure nails and tweezers, among others.

There is a limited edition range in shocking pink (my faves), which is selling out fast. I particularly love the pink facial sponges (R39.95) – so much more girly than yellow ones…
