I like mascaras with the plastic type wands as I find that it creates less clumping and is less messy with product build up inside the tube/around the wand. The wand itself is big, but not unmanageable although it does make inner corner lashes a bit more tricky.
The bristles separates the lashes and builds nice volume and length. I purchased the waterproof one and extra effort is required to get it off at the end of the day. All and all I quite like it especially the length it gives, but I will continue the search for the perfect mascara for me.
