MAC Give me Liberty of London Beauty Powder in Shellpearl

For those who don’t know what a beauty powder is, like I didn’t, beauty powders can be used as an all over face powder, as blush, highlighting, setting, eyeshadow and other purposes. Although it looks similar to a blush, he usage depends on both the shade itself and how well it shows up on your skin tone. The colour I bought my beauty powder in is “ShellPearl” which is a beautiful peachy-coral with a soft golden peach sheen powder. It comes in a beautifully designed Liberty print on the top of the packaging. Shellpearl may be used as a blush on fairer skin tones, but for deeper skin tones it is more appropriate as a highlighter.

I was a little intimidated at first when I took this powder highlight out of it's packaging.

It is a really dark purple colour, so you would think that the pigment is insane and that a very light hand is needed.

It turned out to be quite the opposite. It is such an awesome blush topper. Your cheeks look very glowy, but not shimmery and it gives you the perfect pinched flush.

It blends out so well and I am just so glad I bought it. I hope some of you took a chance on this one as well.

Compared to other MAC compacts, these are actually not badly priced. They retail for about R260 (when they are not in special packaging) and they are so worth every cent.

I currently own 2: Sparkling Rose and Pearl Blossom. I really want to build up my collection though.

They are subtle enough to use as a finishing powder, but can also be built up to serve as a stunning highlight.

They are limited edition and are only available in certain collections. So, do watch out for them and grab them quickly as they sell out super fast!

I remember when I first saw this beauty powder when the collection was first released, how I was so in love with the colour. It’s a beautiful peachy-coral with a soft golden peach sheen colour that looks lovely as a blush colour, eyeshadow and highlighter on my fair skin tone. It is not pigmented like a blush at all, but rather gives a beautiful sheen to your skin. I love using this beauty powder when I’m wearing dramatic eye makeup and I don’t want the blush to detract from the eyes. This beauty powder is perfect in that it is not too pigmented to overshadow any other makeup you have on your face, but gives your skin a beautiful, subtle sheen that makes all the difference with your face makeup.

The only thing I would recommend doing with this beauty powder, is to dab the powder instead of swiping the brush back and forth as this will cause quite of lot of powder to be formed (which you don’t want, because its limited edition and you want to use it sparingly ;).
