This luscious body cream goes on smoothly and is quickly absorbed. Leaving you with silky smooth skin and just a hint of the fragrant bouquet of bergamot, mandarin, sweet orange, lavender and geranium.
I'm not going to lie when I first took a whiff of this body cream I thought it was in the same league as the Africology Body Butter (see my review). But on having my sense of smell once again accosted by the body butter I realised it is a lot more potent and earthier. As it is once applied the L'Occitane Relaxing Body Cream's scent becomes a lot more subtle with the floral and citrus notes more easily distinguished which whisk you away to the state of relaxation.
Now I have been aware of L'Occitane en Provence for a while now but only as a coveted, high quality but pricey french skincare brand. Recently I discovered a bit more about the brand. The brand believes strongly in sustainability which shines through from its production of the high quality oils used in the L’Occitane products from organic ingredients that undergo chemical-free extraction processes through to its fair-trade practices. Independence of the individual is important to this brand as is evident from its support of women’s economic emancipation as well as being one of the first companies to feature braille labeling on their products.
Yes at R 560 for 200 ml it is way too expensive for my everyday body cream. But when I want to pamper myself with a luxurious product to soothe my aching legs and tired mind L’Occitane Relaxing Body Cream will definitely come to mind as I know it will deliver and those extra rands I have to spend are so that others can have a decent wage and a brighter future.
