How to Keep Your Makeup from Melting Off Your Face

Keeping cool and staying gorgeous at the same time can be a bit of a challenge in the summer. With all these sweltering heat waves approaching, it can be very frustrating to keep your makeup from dripping right off your face. Below are a few foolproof beauty tips on how not to look like a hot mess during the sunny season:

  • Bring Out The Ice

Before you apply any makeup, slather an ice cube all over your face. This will cool your face down, tighten your pores and lessen the chances of makeup meltdown.

  • Always Wear Primer

Never forget to prime your face. Primer makes an excellent base for the rest of your makeup, locking it in and keeping it from melting.

  • Keep Your Makeup Heat-Friendly

Opt for a light foundation, or keep it sheer with a BB or CC cream instead. Piling on thick, creamy products is asking for that melt-effect.

  • Stay Away From Anything Oil-Based

Whether it’s your foundation, moisturiser, toner or whatever it may be that you put on your face, none of it should have any oil in it. Not only will it make your skin feel uncomfortably greasy as you start perspiring, but it will just leave you feeling gross in addition your face melting off.

  • Avoid Liquid Cosmetics

Try to avoid liquid cosmetics, whenever possible. Some liquid cosmetics, such as primer or BB cream, you can’t get past, but liquid eyeliners and lip liners should be given a miss when it’s really hot or humid outside. The same goes for any cream-based eye shadow or blushes.

  • Go Waterproof Or Go Home

Stick to waterproof formulas and your makeup will stick to you. Simple! They keep sweat and humidity at bay and from ruining your makeup job. This typically applies to your eye makeup, especially your mascara and eyeliner.

  • Carry Blotting Paper With You At All Times

This is a must-have in your makeup arsenal. These thin, magical papers are essential for blotting away any sweat or oil secreted on your face during the day, without removing any of your makeup.

I hope these tips come in handy on those scorchers yet to come. Do you know of any other methods for keeping your makeup in place?
