How To Embrace Your Pale Skin

Stop hiding behind your bronzer! Being a member of the pale person’s club is a blessing. Instead of covering yourself in fake tan or trying to camouflage your natural skin tone, enhance and embrace your beautiful fair skin. Here’s how:

Pick The Right Shade of Face Makeup
As much as it is a struggle for ethnic women to find the perfect shade of makeup to suit their skin tone, the same battle goes for women with pale skin. Before you make any purchases, sample, sample and sample some more! Some products may look suitable in their packaging, but may not be fitting once it is applied to your face.

Make sure your foundation, concealer, powder and whatever else you put on your face works well and complements the undertones in your skin. Tawny, alabaster, beige or makeup products with pink tones work best, such as the products below:

Stay away from makeup products with orange or bronzy tones, or ones that have shimmer finishes or contain luminizers. Highlighting your facial features needs to be done carefully. Or you’ll end up looking like an alien!

Choose Blush Over Bronzer
Bronzer can look too brown or gray on pale skin, making your face look ruddy and dirty. While bronzer does add warmth and life to dull looking skin, it does not give off the most natural finish, especially on a pasty complexion.

These include blue, green, purple, beige and gray. Pastel eye shadow shades also work great with fair skin, especially ones with a subtle shimmer as they reflect light, drawing attention to the colour of your eyes.

Avoid dark eye shadow shades. These can make you look washed out and even paler than you already are. In terms of mascara and eyeliner, sometimes black can appear too dramatic against pale skin. Try brown or charcoal eyeliner and mascara shades as an alternative.

Avoid Dark Lip Colourfair-skin-blonde-hair-blue-eyes-makeup-29
A dark lip colour on a pale complexion can make you look uninviting and unapproachable. Unless you’re going to a dress up party, do not go for a harsh lip colour.

Nudes, corals and pinks are pulled off best on light skin tones. So, take advantage and get colourful.

Apply Makeup More Dramatically On Either Your Eyes Or Lips
Makeup is used to enhance your features, not mask them. To prevent your makeup from overwhelming your face and blocking out your natural beauty, keep the focus on either your eyes or lips.

Creating a focal point and using the right amount of makeup to accentuate that given feature will take the attention off your pale complexion, while

Being perpetually pale and still looking amazing is not impossible. Do you have skin white as snow? What is your go-to makeup product for your pale skin?
