Heart Nail Art Design

It’s starting to warm up to the day of love, Valentines Day and nail art. There are heart shaped chocolates and cards in the shops already so I decided to share a heart inspired nail art design that you can try with regular tools at home. Here is how I did it;

Start off with a base coat to protect your natural nails and prevent your polish from staining.

Paint one coat of light pink polish and wait for it to dry. I used O.P.I. ’s “Pink Friday”.

Take a gold/glitter polish and a sponge, and lightly brush a thin layer over the pink to give it an elegant touch and add some texture. I used colour “312” by WOW cosmetics.

Take a white polish and paint white hearts. You can either do one heart on each nail or lots of small hearts, scattered, over the nail. I used my small nail art detailing brush but a toothpick will also work really well. I used Essence’s Nail art stampy polish in “Stamp me! White.”

My hearts looked a bit bland so I added a few “stitches” on the edges which seemed to help add dimension.

Seal with a top coat and your pretty heart nail art design is complete and will last long enough for you to show off to your friends and family…or that special someone 😉
Heart Nail Art

This is a very versatile design. Chop and change to your favourite colours or change the hearts to roses, its up to personal preference.

Don’t forget to share your pictures if you do decide to try this nail art design.
