Telogen effluvium is also known as Hair thinning. Hair is a very sensitive reflection of what’s happening on the inside of our scalp. Excessive and huge amounts of hair loss are almost always the result of a disturbance or in balance in the body. The sudden start of hair thinning all over the head is very common to women but can be caused by lack of vitamins and iron. The cause of this type of hair loss can usually occur over a monthly period and these are some of the causes.

  • Fevers and heats over a certain temperature
  • Severe vomiting and sickness and Severe weight loss and dieting
  • After Pregnancy
  • Emotional shock
  • Blood loss & surgery
  • Birth control or the changing of contraceptives
  • Prescription medication

Hair thinning is also considered a temporary but self-correcting hair loss which normally recovers within six months so if you have this problem try stay positive and solve the problem.

DEMODEX FOLLICULORUM:

This is a microscopic mite, pretty scary but true it has also been associated with hair thinning or Hair loss. It was originally discovered in the 1840s and has been known to inhabit the scalp, forehead   & eyebrows area.

Demodex is not found in everyone’s scalp. This tiny microscopic organism, produces an enzyme called lipase. Lipase is needed in order for the demodex to break down and feed on the sebum produced by the sebaceous gland in the scalp.

Scalp with an excessive amounts of sebum appears to be the most likely to have demodex . This parasite has a hard outer shell, which the oily sebum sticks. Demodex steals the developing hair of its essential nutrients by feeding on the sebum.

Demodex is an alien to the follicle and the lipase and is believed to affect the quality and condition as well as the appearance of your hair.

POOR BLOOD CIRCULATION:
Poor blood circulation can deprive your hair of nutrition and ability to remove toxins.

Aggressive Scalp Treatments can have a huge effect on the scalp can cause bad damage .Mechanical aggression, such as  hair brushing and styling Pulling, twisting and tightening  your hair can cause temporary  hair loss and even permanent hair and scalp damage. Bad scalp hygiene can also cause damage for example a build-up of hair care and styling products containing resins and chemicals are harsh on the scalp.

Hormones and changes in the body can also be the cause of Hair loss.

STRESS:

Stress can trigger hair loss in men and women .This is believed to occur because stress in the body produces increased amounts of androgens which can trigger hair loss.

Poor diet and bad eating habits combined with stress can have a huge effect on the body and if not helped can cause permanent damage for the rest of your life.

LACK OF SLEEP:
Sleep plays one of the most important roles in allowing the body to repair. One in every four of us suffers from some form or sleep problem and this always affects the body in some way.

Alterations in the sleep patterns have been shown to affect the body systems including immune function and hormones as well as physical and mental problems.

The hair is very sensitive to changes within the body, and hair loss is nearly always found as an effect. Autoimmune problems such as hair loss and psoriasis are known to be cause by stress levels in the body.
