Water is beauty’s best friend

Hey beauties! So, you know how I am forever on the look-out for the latest and greatest anti-aging lotions and potions? Well, one of the best things for our skins ( and weight loss too, apparently) is literally on tap! It’s water!!

glass of waterThe elixir of life, water is also invaluable to keep your skin and body looking at its best. Now that summer is so close we can actually taste it, it is a good time to check that you are getting in your recommended daily water intake. The average person requires 6-8 glasses of water a day and more if you are exercising or out in the sun.

There is a popular myth that if you drink enough water you can eliminate wrinkles, but this is too good to be true. However, drinking the correct amount of water can go a long way towards vibrant, more youthful-looking skin. Here is why: Water is essential for a good circulation system and if you have great circulation, all nutrients and oxygen can be easily transported throughout the body and to even the smallest of blood vessels and capillaries. Toxins and waste products can be quickly removed leaving skin healthy and radiant. So even though you cannot completely remove wrinkles with buckets full of water ( which would actually be harmful, by the way), drinking the recommended amount can leave your skin looking smoother and glowing just because you are keeping it well hydrated.

Water assists in keeping our bodies slim and trim too! It can help you to lose weight by suppressing the appetite and it also helps in metabolising fatty deposits. So keep up that water intake to be bikini ready by summer.

If you find it really tedious to drink water, here are some tips to help you in your task:
•    If you enjoy fruit juice, substitute half the juice with water
•    Try drinking water through a fancy straw
•    Add slices of your favourite citrus fruit to give your water beverage a little zest!
•    Use frozen berries instead of ice cubes
•    Keep a trendy water bottle with you at all times, so you will look fashionable as well as healthy
•    Have a glass of water every time you crave a sweet treat
