Go Coconutty for Coconut Oil

I have been hearing so many good things about Coconut Oil that I decided to find out a bit more about it, and try it out for myself.

 

 

 

Coconut Oil is a medium chain fatty acid, which basically means that it is easily digested. It converts to energy immediately, instead of being converted into fat, and also helps to boost our metabolism. This is great news for anybody trying to stay healthy or wanting loose a little weight.

Cooking with Coconut Oil is great, because, unlike Olive Oil, it remains stable even at smoking temperature. Olive Oil is great, but you can’t cook with Olive Oil, as it turns carcinogenic at high temperatures. I only found this out recently after cooking with it for ages (eeek!), so I changed back to Canola Oil for a while.

I am so happy to discover Coconut Oil has such awesome benefits. Apparently, it also helps to prevent Alzheimers Disease!

Coconut oil is also a fabulous product to use on your skin whenorganic coconut oil you are fighting the signs of aging. Coconut Oil actually promotes the production and replacement of collagen, thereby helping to prevent the formation of wrinkles. Coconut Oil also helps to decrease wrinkles and dryness of the skin, because it contains an essential emollient, so skin is left soft and hydrated, if you rub the oil on your skin on a daily basis. This is why you will find that so many good skincare products actually contain Coconut Oil in their list of ingredients.

Coconut oil is jam-packed with antioxidants to help in the reduction of free radicals that are the main cause of premature aging.

Coconut Oil can also be used to limit sun damage if you have roasted all day. Of course you won’t completely undo the ravages of the sun, but since Coconut oil helps to reduce inflammation and is an excellent moisturiser, it will definitely help. Coconut Oil also has a natural SPF, so by using it on your skin every day, you are also helping to keep your skin protected from the sun.

Coconut Oil is also a natural anti-viral and anti-fungal.

Make sure the Coconut Oil that you buy is organic, unrefined and unbleached.
