Makeup How To: Get Blushed…

blush3Love the rosy, natural look but not quite sure of which makeup products to use to get it?

Here is an easy way to get blushed!

Blush can be your best beauty basic, provided you know how to apply it.  This wonder product instantly makes you look healthy, awake and perfectly polished.

The best thing about blush is that it creates an optical illusion, drawing the eye to wherever you dust it on. It’s all about location, location, location with blush!

Still wondering about the best part of your face to apply it? Well that all depends on the shape of your face.

If you have a round face: Sweep it along your cheekbones (suck in your cheeks to locate them) and extend the colour out to your temples.

To balance a heart-shaped face: Apply blush below the apples (the meatiest parts) of your cheeks and blend out to your hairline.

To soften a long face: Blend blush beneath your apples, but not out to your temples, it will only lengthen your face.

Love the rosy glow look but don’t want to end up looking like a clown? So what is the best colour blush to suit your skin tone?

The beauty school of thought is to choose a blush based on your skin’s undertones basically the colour your skin turns when you pinch your cheeks!

The idea of blush is to use a blush that plays up or down—depending on the effect you’re after—all the subtle colours naturally found in your skin.

Girls with olive skin and tan easily have gold or yellow undertones.
If you blush often and easily your skin tones are probably pink or red. If your complexion is dark, you probably have plum or blue undertones.

If you have gold or yellow undertones PICK orange or reddish pinks.
They enhance brightness and diminish sallowness.

If you have pink or red undertones stick with light pinks to complement your colouring or try peach or mocha to cut redness!

If you have plum or blue skin undertones go for vivid oranges or pinks, which will stand out against your skin.

Blushing bits…
Still not sure quite where to apply the blush? Get smiling—see the apples of your cheeks? That’s your target! Using your blush brush, apply in a circular motion to rounded cheeks. Blend up and outward toward temples until no hard lines are left.
If you looking for that dewy rosy look, use a crème based blush as opposed to powder based, it will give you that dewy look in a flash!

A fab tip it to add a light dusting of bronzer at the tops of cheekbones, where the sun would naturally hit your face for that instant summer glow!
Time to pull out the makeup and get blushed!
