It is like an oil fluid. But it is difficult to apply. The instruction is to squeeze a small dose onto fingertips, but since it is very liquid, it runs down my fingers before I can even apply it to my face. Also even though it helps to soften skin, didn't help with some of the more acute pieces of dry skin on my face. If it was easier to apply could really make all the difference.
